I have never paid attention to MaxPrep's. After hearing several comments I was compelled to look at it and it was amazing. But, the rumors I heard were true. HS coaches apparently enter bogus numbers, wrong numbers, inept numbers, don't enter anything, stat's that are worthless, some entries are made by people keeping a scorebook that have no idea what a "hit" is, some by who-knows-who's DD, blah, blah, blah. I am sure that the initial intent of MaxPrep's was a good one (whenever it was started) but it is obvious that anyone who bases anything on the stats is not living in this solar system and are enjoying their alternate reality.
Nevertheless, if the comics don't provide enough amusement at least there are alternative sources. Having now invested about 15 minutes in going through MaxPrep's looking at players I know, I can now comment to others who appear to embrace it (usually coaches with a DD or the scorekeepers of a DD) and say "that's nice", knowing it's buried in b.s. (last and final 15 minutes) And if the parents believe that Arizona or UCLA or Washington or xyz coaches actually read it... well... again, an alternate reality and I really wish them well. I needed a good laugh, anyway. Got it.
