They came in 3rd and 5th last year out of 27 teams and ticked a lot of teams

I agree. If it were 70 min drop dead and no new innings after 65 min I could under stand.

If you drop dead you have to revert to the last complete inning for seeding. The game would last 70 minutes drop dead if the home team is at bat in the last 5 minutes. One of the tie breakers is "runs for" so if the home team scored runs in the last 5 minutes that would be applied to their record if they 3 and out at minute 66 game over. Maybe it's over Kill. This however goes to show why TD's are so reluctant to change because no matter what you put out there someone is going to challenge it and try to make an issue out of it. The principle is to seed the teams to bracket and have a tournament in which every game count

I understand your 65/70 minute theory if these were drop dead games but your tournament says finish the inning. They are 65 minute games finish the inning, 70 minutes will not come into play.

No what he is saying that if the home team is batting and is ahead in the score at the 65 minuite they would keep batting untill the 70th minuite or untill the 3rd out. They could keep adding runs which is one of the tie breakers.
