They came in 3rd and 5th last year out of 27 teams and ticked a lot of teams

I agree. If it were 70 min drop dead and no new innings after 65 min I could under stand.

If you drop dead you have to revert to the last complete inning for seeding. The game would last 70 minutes drop dead if the home team is at bat in the last 5 minutes. One of the tie breakers is "runs for" so if the home team scored runs in the last 5 minutes that would be applied to their record if they 3 and out at minute 66 game over. Maybe it's over Kill. This however goes to show why TD's are so reluctant to change because no matter what you put out there someone is going to challenge it and try to make an issue out of it. The principle is to seed the teams to bracket and have a tournament in which every game count 8-)

SAYS

http://www.eteamz.com/fastpitch/tournam ... m/1647603/

The Entry fee is $100 + each team is required to donate 1 assembled bike. We will have the Marine Corps come out to pick up the bikes and drive them straight to the Salvation Army. You know 100% for sure these bikes will get to where they are needed!!!!! We will also have a toy drive for the entire community to participate in.

Format:
3 pool games seeding to a single elimination Bracket (4gg)
Bat your line-up
Free Subsitution

70 min pool games finish the inning, no new inning after 65 minutes games can end in a tie.

Bracket seeding:

Win = 2 points
Tie = 1 point
Loss = 0 points

Order of Tie breakers for seeding:

Head to Head
Runs Against
Runs For
Coin Flip

Bracket games 75 minutes or 7 innings, ITB rules if tied

Championship game 7 innings Straight play no time limit, no ITB, extra innings if required.

$100 Entry Fee plus the donation of 1 assembled bike

Maybe it's the wording in the 70 min finish the inning Might have to rethink that and will definitely have to clarify it in the rules packet

Really,

I wasn't trying to make a issue about it. I really just didn't get it. It seemed that every tournament with that format, there was a team and umpire arguing about it and having to get it clarified. Sometimes, after a team argued enough, they would let them start another inning anyway. I agree that no matter what TD does, somebody will cause problems.

I understand your 65/70 minute theory if these were drop dead games but your tournament says finish the inning. They are 65 minute games finish the inning, 70 minutes will not come into play.

No what he is saying that if the home team is batting and is ahead in the score at the 65 minuite they would keep batting untill the 70th minuite or untill the 3rd out. They could keep adding runs which is one of the tie breakers.

Sounds like 65 minutes finish the inning to me
