Texas Teams in Colorado--How are they competing?

by 93players » Thu Jul 02, 2009 12:22 am

Love to hear stories about how your Texas teams are competing in the three big Colorado tournaments. I thought they were more dominant than teams from most states other than California. But I see we are not doing as well as we should be in the pool games. We have to talk about something other than 10U and 12U ball here.

Sudden Impact Gold

Pool Games - 3-1

#2 seed in their portion of the bracket

Impact Gold came from behind to beat East Cobb Bullets 3-2. It wasnt the same team IG faced in Georgia.... that team is in Boulder.

Bracket starts tomorrow morning @ 7:30am.... weather permitting.
When asked how many times she hit Tiger with the golf club, she responded, "I'm not sure...put me down for an 8!

That would be the Texas Glory 14U Adkins.....Scott Chambers is one of the assistant coaches. By the way, Texas Glory 16U Adkins is undefeated in the 14U Fireworks! They are playing with only 14U eligible players. :ugeek:

Grandmaster - you have unfortunately been misinformed. Glory Chambers did not go 2 and out - they did win their first bracket game. In this tournament the older teams usually do the best; they are half 94's and half 95's. I do expect the other Glory Adkins team to fair well.

On a sadder note, anybody heard aything on the Batbusters girl who was injured Thursday night?

Also, Glory Chambers went 3-1 in pool play. Not affiliated with them but do have a good friend on the team and they have nothing to hang their heads about. They had to fight back several times against older and bigger teams to win. They showed a lot of heart and are getting better and better. If they can get their pitching up to speed look out...

Great group of girls and good parents. Not your "stereotypical" glory group. (Which I'm sure most of them aren't!!!)

I typically don't count pool games either...however, this is one of those tournaments where all the teams actually DO try their hardest to win their pool game because seeding is so important in this tournament. The teams that go 4-0 in pool play have a much easier road in bracket play... I've never seen any team hold any thing back in pool play in CO.
