CTS PITCHER LEAVES???????

Are you all talking about the CTS pitcher that is about 6 feet tall? I thought she is playing for CTS 14U? Someone confirm this please.

she is a 96 that plays on the 14U team but now she is playing for PS 96

Looks like PS now has a total of 3 top notch pitchers. Doesn't look like there will be enough balls to go around. (Too many cooks ruin the soup). If the other pitchers don't feel they are being utilized properly there are other teams in the top 10 that could use them. Just one of these pitchers could take a team from say 6 to 2 overnight. What's a 100 miles a weekend for the next couple of months.

You can keep 3 pitchers happy with no problem as long as the parents are team players and aren't singing the old famous travel ball tune,

Look at Firecrackers Arto, 3 great pitchers everyone seems happy and the team is doing great.
We have three great pitchers and we have no problems.

A team needs THREE great pitchers to make a real run at State and Nationals; either of which can become a marathon of games depending on the draw, etc. I am told that a three pitcher rotation is what PS 96 was looking for. (I understand that they had a third pitcher but she was not at the same level as the other two, and certainly not at the level of the CTS 96 pitcher. She recently left the team and joined another SD travel ball team.) Moreover, each of the pitchers is also an outstanding infielder. One appears to start at SS when she is not pitching and the other starts at 2nd base when she is not on the mound. The CTS pitcher also plays 1st base. And all can hit for power.

The PS 96 coaching staff is top-notch, and I am sure they are taking into account how to integrate the CTS 96 pitcher into the Team without upsetting the other players and their parents. What is undisputed is that with the addition of the CTS 96 pitcher, and if there is no loss of other PS players because of the addition, then PS 96 will be tough to beat at State and should compete for the ASA National crown.

Great post #1 and I agree with you totally........ME ME ME ME - I love a 3 pitcher rotation because then you aren't hurting the girls It also helps in making sure girls don't throw more than 2 games in one day! I THINK THAT TOPIC WAS IN ANOTHER POST....OR 50...

It also helps in creating an entire TEAM atmosphere!!!

OR WILL THIS BRING DOWN THE TEAM ?HOW, WILL THE COACHING STAFF HANDLE THE MOMMY AND DADDY POLITICS. WHAT ABOUT THOSE GIRLS THAT WILL RIDE THE BENCH WHILE THE OTHERS ARE ON SECOND AND FIRST. WILL THE PARENTS BE HAPPY? PLAYING TIME?

The addition of the former CTS pitcher really gives the PS96 team one clear advantage. The ability to win there way through a losers bracket. If they have a bad game (happens sometimes at any age, especially 12u), they now have the confidence to know that they have the pitching to battle back through the losers side to get back to the top. In any double elimination format, this is huge.

PS96 will have tough games ahead, especially now that there is a price on their heads (so to speak). They will lose a few games along the road. They are now on pace to be awesome come Nationals, I would suggest that they begin to look for the best competition available, begin to schedule some friendlies with the better 14u teams, enter some good 14u tournaments, sprinkle in some 12u games (especially "select" 97 teams - for the off-speed).

Time to turn on the Rocky theme song - tune out the hype - and start really preparing for the big dance. There are several other teams that should follow suite. 2007 was not a good year for the California class (second year 10's) --- But, there is one thing constant about girls travel softball - that is that nothing is constant -- The class has become stronger, Power Surge players where still playing on various softball all star teams in San Diego in 2007, Jynx was winning rec B Nationals - Corona Angels and Rebels are better and more than half their team has been added since second year 10s - other good teams today were not even on the radar in 2007. This is a very critical time for this class. It is nice to see teams stepping up their games. The work is just beginning. California, let's take Nationals by storm. I believe this class can do it, and that is.............. THE TRUTH.
