UPDATED! 12u Top Team Ranking – Pre ASA Nationals Poll!

we need an updated list, some of these teams have lost stock, some have gained, fix it

Still waiting for a tournament with at least 4-5 ranked teams before we update the ranking. We decided to not count "friendlies" as they are a teaching tool for most teams, and it's hard to compare teams when some are batting 9 while others are batting 14-15 kids.

As stated before, I believe all of the teams in the poll are pretty close so we expect to see minor and major upsets every week. So yes some teams may have "lost stock, while others gained", but the only way we can know for sure is at the next big tournament (maybe Surf City in March).

The real question is, have you seen any team out of the poll that is flying under the radar?

Looking at this and the Fresno tourney, its now safe to say that the only place to see most of the top 12u teams together is at ASA state.

Someone should hold a tourney only for the teams on the waiting list..... that would be a great event!

I cannot comment on the out of states teams cause you never know until you see them...but I'll take: Grapettes, Team Smith 96, Raiders (if Phil is there), and Valley Tribe. The Grapettes are well coached and disciplined, Team Smith has some great players, Phil brings the best out in his team (love him or hate him), and Valley Tribe seems to be the "sleeping sensation" right now...so those are my top 4 picks.

Colorado, NV, and AZ have good programs too so good luck to everyone! It's gonna be fun!

Xpress 96

Come on Hotwheels - we now expect Corona Xpress in the semi's! PS. I have never seen a team hate pool play as much as you! But you will be in your element at ASA State!

I’ll hold off on the predictions until I see the schedule! Early take on this tournament!

Valley Tribe will have all the pressure to win this tourney! Not sure if they can do it – their friendly schedule has been a little troubling.

So Cal Crunch – They will have a bad bracket game offensively, can they win one on the defensive side… if so they are my favorites.

California Grapettes – Expect to see them in the semi’s.

Raiders 96 – Pitching is an issue right now (injuries) so reaching the semi’s would be a big deal.

TeamSmith 96 - Good enough to win the tourney, but I'll hold off - until I see their potential bracket.

TNL – If Jerry is coaching, they will start to make their move. Not sure if they are ready to win a tournament but they will make some noise and be in the next poll. Note: He knows the success formula in 12u - his goal is always a strong showing at ASA Nationals. Don't believe him if he tells you "next year we'll be a contender."

I also liked last years 96 Scottsdale Fever, if they have the same core – will be a contender.

I have the 8 above teams on my watch list, with the below teams - Most likely to send one or two of the above teams home!

OC Batbusters Ray – I didn't expect them to win - so bet the opposite!
Ozone - match up very well against Crunch, Raiders and TeamSmith pitchers - but the other 5 teams should handle them easy!
Wicked - good for one major upset!
Minors Gold 97 – The hardest place in the poll is near the bottom. Either they will get use to the pressure or could fall out of the poll. Some teams play better under the radar... and I think this is one of them! Capable of beating any of the top teams, but also capable of losing big to any of them.
