The 2014 NCAA Women’s College World Series take place May 29 to June 4 at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium – OGE Energy Field in Oklahoma City. Hopefully, UL (I won’t put ULL for fear of a flaming) can pull it off. It’s hard not to like an underdog, and they seem to have the strength to get all the way to the end. I bet the OU, Alabama, and UL fans have been buying WCWS tickets like crazy.

I have said before, and I will say again, facilities and fan base matter. Many of the competitive teams this year are proving that. Why wouldn’t every young girl want to play on nice fields, with tons of people cheering for them? It says to them, “Female athletes are valued here”.

I watched the Kentucky/UCLA game the other day. The UCLA field looked like the dust bowl we have for our rec. teams. I was curious if things were as bad as they looked on TV, so I checked out the UCLA softball team website. I found it strange that they have very few pictures of their field/facilities, so that leads me to believe they are not that great. They used most of the web page to warn people about items that you cannot bring in, with one of the strangest being no unsliced fruit. What in the heck are people doing with unsliced fruit that it has to be banned??
