ASA finally stepping things up and updating their website in real time. Take advantage, it's about time ASA did this. Thanks ASA. All results and scores posted here, you can make your own judgment about upsets: http://gfp.tournamentasa.com/i!/bracket ... &BSID=1962

Wow! What an interesting Top Eight!

1. Firecrackers - Araujo
2. California Grapettes
4. SoCal Athletics
4. OC Batbusters 2K
8. Power Surge Teal
8. Artesia Punishers
8. Team Mizuno - Briggs
8. Corona Angels - Tyson

I was only able to catch a couple pool games and I was trying to see teams I had not seen before. As it turned out I didn't pick very good games and none of those teams finished top 8. So in the spirit of staying positive, I won't say anything about those games.

Then sadly a sudden change in weekend work schedule prevented me from seeing anymore games. I followed on the ASA post (Thank You, by the way ASA), but it obviously isn't the same.

So . . . where are the reporters? I'm with Wide (above); who saw any Sunday games and has anything to report? (Please keep it as objective and positive as possible) Who are the Grapettes?!!!! Were the Firecrackers - Araujo flat out dominate?!!!!! Dare I ask it, "Where were the California Cruisers?" Anything else? What, what, what? (For those of us that couldn't be there!)

Grapettes is one of the larger NorCal orgs. They consistently produce good teams.

I didn't see any 12U games, was at Chino Hills watching 14U. Another NorCal team (All American Sports Academy) which I never heard of until this weekend took 14s. Had some big bats and a real tall pitcher that had good speed and movement.

All American Sports Academy have been around for many years. They have also had some very good teams in the past.

I was there the whole weekend prepping fields and can tell you that the Firecrackers were well deserving at #1... Sunday afternoon's game against Power surge was really exciting up until a couple of errors on PS side that cost them... This Firecracker team as well as Power Surge are very well coached teams and it showed bigtime..I was really impressed with the third baseman from Firecrackers on Sunday.... In the first inning, Power Surge got a girl to second with no outs.. didn't faze Firecrackers.. PS attempts to bunt down the third base line where she dives for the ball and the ball bounced out of her glove - the girl on second hesitates cause she thought it was caught.. 3rd baseman gets to her feet -fires to first for the out. Girl on second broke late and was thrown out at third... That was an awesome play to see..

All in all - it was a great tournament with great weather and great fans.. Fields were dragged and water after every game and Just wished that more people pick up trash after themselves...
