SO CALS FINEST - Fall Kick Off

Just got back and I saw Triple Crown posted scores for the games this weekend. It feels like the old days when games meant something. Now we can see which are the teams on top and which are the posers. Nice addition to So Cal's Finest, TCS.

Its a showcase, who cares about wins and loses, scores, etc.... Should only care about what cocahes showed up to watch, then you know if you got your moneys worth.... JMO! Per the website, the colleges coaches in attendance was not completed, or was it really only 1 school in attendance???

Come on, coaches want to see players play competitive games. 18's have been in showcase mode way too long. Do you think if your team goes "O for" or "1 for", coaches are going to hang around to watch your games and players? No.

Totally disagree. In most cases, coaches watch games to follow specific players. Those coaches care far more about how those players are hitting/fielding/pitching, than about whatever the score may be.

In fact, scouts who are really doing their homework get to the games early to watch how those certain players warm-up. Are they hustling or just going through the motions? Are they helping shag balls or chit-chatting and goofing off? Remind your DD's that ya never know when scouts are watching.

There was more way more than one coach there, at least twice as many!

This wasn't a Showcase, it was an overpriced friendly. Why they post scores is beyond me.

They post scores because everyone of you say you don't care about the scores but you all look at the scores.

If they don't post scores you complain if they do you complain, who cares. Good for them for putting in all the extra work and posting scores.

All the teams are evaluating their new players and the new players are evaluating the new coaches. Everyone was moving players around to see what they got


I don't care if it was a showcase or a friendly all I know it was great to be back on the field. and no I didn't complain about the heat either before the sniveling starts about that.

Número UNO, I don't recall folks complaining that surf city and SCFinest never posted scores from these games. If anything it will incentivize knucklehead coaches to play their starting nine more, at the expense of the other kids, lest anyone think their team isn't "good" enough.

Oh they did and they will do it again. If you have a coach playing his starting nine in a showcase/ friendly my advice would be to move on.

I never remember Surf City ever posting scores in a freindly/ showcase just tourneys

Agree 100% with World Turns. I really like that scores are posted. Next time don't loss.
Regardless if it is a showcase, a win is a win, and a loss is a learning experience.
Always play to win. Practice to win. Learn to win. or why bother.
How man coaches tell their teams,,,"it's just a showcase ladies it doesn't matter, just go threw the motions unless you see a scout"
Play the clock, play to win, and sell all show all.
