Then why did these Elite teams make a big deal about it by secretly meeting among each other and voting not to let the banned teams play. Who gave them the right to form such an Elite Committee, call the organizer and tell him they will pull out if they let the banned teams play. Why not handle it like grown ups and just give the teams a warning. But I guess they want to prove something to Aces, Firecrackers & Kaos and all the parents and players out there. I never thought I would see such a terrible thing happen. I wish someone could fix it all up with a mediator and come up with a solution or warning instead. But no, these coaches had to forget why we are all out there, for the girls to get exposed.

These "Elite Teams" haven't banned anyone! They are not playing in tournaments with teams they have a problem with! The Beaumont tournament director made that decision. Who brings in the coaches "Elite teams or AE". The beaumont director is caught in the middle! There are other exposures going this weekend! AE doesn't have the clout, to pull in the major colleges, if they're going up against the Elite Teams!

My opinion

Should be interesting when AE plays IG-KC at the end of the month in Sugarland. Looks like AE will get a chance to play several of the Elite teams, so to speak.

Softball Guru: I guessed I used the wrong words. These Elite coaches told the tournament director they will not play if the Aces, Kaos or Firecrackers were allowed to play. They used their power to influence the director to call Aces and tell them they could not play in the tournament because the Elite coaches said they will pull out. Read McCorkle message below and you tell me were they kicked off or not. And yes there are other tournaments but Aces signed up for this tournament, paid for it and they wanted to play in it. And at the last minute were told they could not because of the power that these coaches have over a tournament. What should we expect next to happen more control over other tournaments.

Its tough for 1 program to have the clout of 10. which is probly why KC leaned on the other teams and lied to them about what the aces express coach was told about tryouts...you really should go back and read his post.

and apparently they can pull college coaches. go to there website like i just did and see where there players are commited.

this committee will do what it can get away with til ASA steps in or some of the people decide to do the right thing

He's not caught in the middle. If Cole had any balls he would have told KC where he could stick his threat. The 10 teams have already paid their money and weren't going anywhere (same for the Bombers last week). If they pulled out, what would they tell the parents that pay all that money for their kids to play. What would they tell the colleges that they told to come watch. KC: "Sorry Coach Murphy, I'm not going to play in the same park as McCorkle" Coach Murphy: "I don't understand, Isn't their pitcher going to A&M." KC "Yes coach, I'm not sure my players can hit her and I wouldn't want them to have a bad showing"

Honestly, I don't know what IG, SI, HP, E, or any other team that THINKS they are elite believes they have to gain by blackballing teams. Do they really think that college coaches aren't going to find out what they are doing. The 3 coaches they are messing with have plenty of college contacts, one was even a professional athlete. When the colleges see what type of individuals these "elite" coaches are, do you think they are going to respect the coach, or anything the coach tells them. There is no way this can bring anything positive to the organizations that are supporting this ban. Parents will soon to realize this, and players will disappear.

These so called "elite" coaches are actually nothing more than wanna be, has beens. Gold ball in the fall should be about showcasing and supporting all the girls. I wouldn't want my DD to play for anybody that puts himself ahead of any player. I have a feeling, I'm not alone.

Good luck IG, can't wait to see you on the field.

So a bunch of idiots decide to get together and form a Houston softball mafia. Incredible. Great recruiting technique. It's no surprise their players are leaving.

The bottom line is that most college coaches want to see the top teams because they usually have the best talent. I've taken my DD to college camps where the college coaches specifically mention that we need to play for Impact, Glory, Storm or Eclipse. So where ever the top teams are, the college coaches will be. Facts are facts. If you wan your kids to get more college exposure, get on 1 of those teams or at least figure out a way to play them so college coaches can which your kids.

It's gone - 5 post, all on this thread. No suprise all backing IG and the Commitee deciding to tel TDs they will pull all the Commitee teams from the tournament if a banned team plays.

Maybe you can explain why the College coaches go to exposures to watch girls who have already commited?

Maybe you explain why the Commitee feels the need to get these teams banned from tournaments?

Maybe you can explain how this behavior furthers the mission statements of the core organizations of softball? (ASA, Premier, Back Softball)

Maybe you can explain how this behavior shows the character and integrity that is expected from the girls who play the game?

I know you want to turn this into people being against IG, that simply is not the case. I have respect for the majority of girls who play there, they are truly talented. Until a few days ago I had repsect for the coaches as well.

This is Not about the IG players. This IS about the IG coaches as well as coaches from the commitee with strong arm tactics to keep teams out of tournaments. Where is ol' Marvin Zindler when you need him, maybe we will see what comes from an official investigation.
