College Listing in Player Profile Schools Player Rejected

What's on your mind?

Had a chance to see Northwestern play and I was impressed. Serious ball club with excellent coaching. I decided to look up some of the bios of the players. I was very surprised to see the profile list programs that the player rejected. For example, under Personal of Emily Allard, 24, it says "Chose Northwestern over Notre Dame, Illinois State and Wisconsin" Almost every player had this on their profile.

I have not seen this done before. Of course, you would never see top programs say, our players chose us over a bunch of weaker programs. I think it shows some form of insecurity. The more interesting aspect is that does the coach require a written offer before putting this on the site? Few programs push you through admissions unless you tell them you are really interested and then they begin with your head coach. Are these full offers or partials? Might be misleading if they are expressions of strong interest.

Regardless of this point, Northwestern and Stanford in softball are similar to the Duke and Stanford womens basketball programs. They attract some really bright kids who are serious softball players.

Yes, some bios at some schools include info of other schools the player considered. I don't think it necessarily means they received scholarship offers at those other schools. It could just mean they received letters or emails indicating some level of interest. Perhaps a bit misleading, but still true if the player had indeed considered attending those other schools.

Hilarious! Like "look I'm not the only idiot who wanted her!"
Ladies, if a man tells you he will fix it, he will fix it. There is no reason to remind him about it every six months.
