I received an e-mail for entry info into the USAPREPS qualifier/showcases? Their site shows events at multiple locations in the country. The dates may butt up against dates for more established events. Is anyone familiar with these events? Any value in attending?

I believe this is just a money maker. No one, that I know, that has attended any of these events have got any offers. JMHO

$395 for the camp? I guess if your are interested in one of the schools listed, and can't make contact with them any other way, maybe.
Most of the softball community will be at one of the many Nationals events at that time (So Cal event).
You may also want to buy a lotto ticket. Odds of winning are probably the same as a coach from a school you care about noticing your kid.
Just another group trying to make money off our kids, and most likely not delivery anything of value.

Our events are ALL instructional camps, whether they are formatted as a traditional camp or a tournament. When you participate in one of our events, you WILL meet and learn from AT LEAST 20 different coaches from colleges big and small from all over the USA. You will speak with them, learn from them, eat with them, and so will parents!
USA Preps is, in fact, a FOR PROFIT business. We are not trying to hide that from anyone.
We are NOT a recruiting service. In fact, because high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are in direct contact with Division I and Division II coaches throughout our events, recruiting at our events by our instructors is not permitted by the NCAA!
That does not mean that athletes at our events are not recruited or "followed" as a result of their participation. It just means that no "verbals" will be offered at our camps! In fact, a large number of participants in our camps have been offered scholarships subsequent to their involvement with us. However, it would be presumptuous of us to attribute those offers to our camps as there is little or no effective way to track such events. Any camp or tournament promoter that takes direct credit for a scholarship offer is really stretching it...
We strive to provide quality sports instruction to athletes interested in continuing their passion in college. We believe, as do hundreds of satisfied customers, our program’s value is in the unique experience we provide. Our repeat clientele is continually growing and currently represents about 25% of our participants!
Only you, the individual consumer, can determine if our program is the type of opportunity you would like to take part in. Our camps are open to EVERYONE, regardless of ability, just as required by the NCAA! If anyone would like to contact us for more information that is 100% accurate, please feel free to do so. We look forward to the opportunity to speak with you regardless of whether you decide to join us at an event or not! Thank you.

In fact, it is possible "NumeroUno" is actually that competitor hiding behind a pseudonym. Just search heybucket username "NumeroUno." This user is a prolific poster with LOTS of posts promoting a competitor's "for profit" camps.
There is nothing wrong with that, per se. However, we feel that someone who has never worked with us who speaks ill of our program while promoting another has a conflict of interest.
We ask you to educate yourself. Don't take our word for it, don't take another stranger's word for it. Call us for references, we'll gladly provide them! (college coaches, club coaches, participants, parents)

My DDs participated in the competitors camps. I have pictures of the coaches grandstands from those camps. There are very objective reasons why NU is a HUGE fan of those camps. I think just about anybody whose DD participated is at least a fan and some are HUGE fans.
Went to various other camps before we got invited to the competitor's camp and never went to another camp.
Just a dad's opinion.

I see no hope for the future of our people if they are dependent on the frivolous youth of today, for certainly all youth are reckless beyond words.

We did NOT badmouth "NumeroUno." We felt it only fair that both sides of the discussion be brought to light. Just as if someone were discussing the pros and cons of Ford vs. Chevy...
We also did not badmouth our "competitor." I'm sure their stellar reputation is hard earned and well deserved. It would be a surprise if they DIDN'T have "HUGE" fans like NumeroUno. We didn't accuse NU of working for them; we just said we wouldn't be surprised. Ok, NU doesn’t. Yes we are newcomers to this site. The only reason we are here is to dispel the misinformation being published.
The list of schools we have contracted with in the past and are contracted with in the future is easily accessible throughout our website including the home page.
The big difference is, our coaches don't sit in the stands, they work with the girls on the field. We run camps, not recruiting events. Our camps are open to all that wish to participate and not limited to the "Best." That is an NCAA MANDATE for Institutional Camps or privately operated Institutional Compliant Camps. TWO VERY DIFFERENT birds here... On Deck doesn't share the same operating model as us and they don't share a common goal. Exposure and recruiting are only ancillary benefits of our events while they are the primary focus of theirs, as I understand it.
We certainly didn’t come here to create enemies. We just want to set the record straight and, in all fairness, accusations that we are a “money grab” are pretty harsh. We think, frankly, they are unfounded.
With over 1400 colleges and universities in the USA playing intercollegiate softball, our program will help some. If your daughter has been on UCLA’s list since 8th grade, she doesn’t need additional instruction from our contracted coaches! If your daughter didn’t make Varsity as a senior, she doesn’t need us either…

I'd like to know who USA preps is please? I went to the website looking for names of people involved in this organization and was unable to find even 1 name. Is there a board of directors ? What is the structure of this business and who are the people involved with its operation?
Who does one contact with a problem or a question about these camps?
I noticed that there is a generic contact us page but again no names or real information.
