Dear USA Softball athletes, coaches and alumni,


Earlier today, the U.S. Olympic Committee announced that Lisa Fernandez and the 2004 U.S. Olympic Softball Team are on the ballot for the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame's Class of 2012. Should Fernandez or the team be voted into the Hall of Fame, the induction would occur in early July, right before the start of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Can you imagine the message that would send to the Olympic community?


The public can help select the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame inductees at http://www.teamUSA.org/halloffame/. Voters will be allowed to vote once per day, per category, through April 9, 2012. For Olympians, you should receive a ballot or activation code soon from the USOC or the U.S. Olympians Association. Please make sure that as soon as you receive your ballot/code, you vote with that code as Olympians' votes receive more weight than those of the general public.


As we move forward in the voting, we hope that we can count on you to help spread the word, as having Fernandez and/or the 2004 U.S. Olympic Softball Team inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame would be a tremendous boost for our sport leading up to the International Olympic Committee's 2013 vote about including softball in the 2020 Games.


Attached is the release that we issued this morning on the nominations and three 160x600 banner ads are attached. (Please link banner ads to http://www.teamUSA.org/halloffame/.) For those of you active on social media, sample Facebook posts and tweets are also attached and enclosed. If there is anything additional that you would like us to provide in order for you to promote the voting, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.


Also, for those of you who have the capability to make videos (through Flipcam, web cam, etc.), we would love to get a video message from you encouraging our fans to vote for Fernandez and the 2004 U.S. Olympic Softball Team. Should you be interested in making a video, please contact me as soon as possible.
