Props to SoCal's Finest for holding a tournament, as opposed to yet another showcase. Wish more of these events were tournament format. And even more that they played the championship games! 8-)

Congrats to the winners

Did anyone use the live game update links on the So Cal's Finest site? If so, did they work well?

So Cals Finest is having two more tourneys in January, much better than showcases :)

Thank you to SCF for hosting another great event... Not only was the competition good but fields were dragged and chaulked before each game, good snack bars, attentitive staff and an over-all great experience.

I used it and all I can say is...WOW! This is the best game update system I've seen yet. I could actually see the updates as they were being entered.

Nice work to UNO and the gang on that and the rest of the tournament...a huge success IMO.

Obviously I agree with this.

While it may not be a showcase technically I suppose, I'm pretty sure if a college requested to see a particular player, that player would go in. Right? Which makes it a de facto showcase anyway.

So why aren't they all like this?

Focus on showcasing players on Saturday, since it's only for seeding anyway. The colleges would probably appreciate this little tweak, as they'd get to see everyone they wanted, plus get to see them in a more realistic sort of pressure situation on Sunday. Best of both worlds, IMO.

Looks like the 18 gold bracket turned into a 16 gold bracket after a couple of key eliminations. Oc bb Myers and corona angels Knighten in the ship. Great game! 4/3 final. Pitching/hitting and defense on both sides.

Both the teams in the ship are awesome! My DD has played a bunch of teams over the years and I never felt like we were overmatched or couldn't beat a team until we played these two teams.

Yep! What a great 16U tournament. Of the final 4 - we only had one 18G team (Worth Firecrackers). 16U should be great this year! Wow! 8-)

PS. No hard feelings 18U ..... but I can do a 16U poll!
