Anderson! (again)

So because every so often I need to take a break from drafting my long-winded diatribes on here, and because work certainly isn't an option, I drove out to Placentia today to have dd's RT regripped at the Anderson shop. It had been gripped poorly originally, and as a result the grip was folding over in spots and generally getting torn to hell.

So they ask me where I bought it and if I have a receipt. I didn't, as I had been told that they would regrip without one (and I probably couldn't have found it in any event).

Well they take my bat back in the warehouse, and a few minutes later the guy (didn't get his name) comes back and tells me the bat is probably bad, because it's not making the right sound when you tap the knob on the ground. He proceeds to demonstrate the desired sound by tapping a new bat on the ground. Then he...gives me the new bat!

Then to top it off, the gal (didn't get her name) at the front desk recommended a fantastic Mexican restaurant nearby, and I had one of the best lunches I've eaten in years.

I understand that Anderson is merely protecting its product image by replacing bad bats, but I don't care...that's damn good customer service right there!

Place called El F------...hell, I don't know, but it was good. North on 57, Exit at Chapman and turn right, right again at Bradford, and about a block down on the right.

Here's the kicker...I forgot my wallet at home and had exactly $11 cash on me...none of which I realized until I got the bill, which was for $10.40. So I left every penny I had on me and slinked shamefully on out of there (I guess I'm lucky I didn't have to wash any dishes). Anyway, the least I could do was give the place a shout-out.

end cap came loose. went in there, no receipt. the guy (donovan) took it to the back, and came out with a new bat...
