Artomatic will be here shortly and he will have it.

I am sure there are other good ones around but you won't find anyone better than Jorge. After you get a few lessons come back here and tell me what you think

What do we look for in a fielding coach? Are there major differences in form and technique from what Araujo, Stith, Trevino, or Kobata teach? Or, do they coach up based on what their scouts are looking for?

Has there been a breakthrough on how to teach instinct and quickness?

What sets one above another?

I confirmed with Jorge that he is ok with me putting his info out there:

Jorge Araujo
562-824-6079
email: vettevette2002@yahoo.com

classes are wednesday nights at cerritos park east
corners-6:15-7:15pm
middle-7:15 to 8:15pm

you have to contact jorge first though and get confirmation due to class size.
i think he added or is going to add another night also.

great positive instruction, lots of reps, high energy.
cant say enough about how much players improve defensively from playing on jorge's teams and going to his fielding classes.
good luck
Deserve's got nothin' to do with it.

I am also interested in hearing how Jorge's style differs from Howard Kobata.

I couldn't tell you the first thing about what Kobata teaches.
I can tell you that I coached against Jorge from 2006 through 2009, then my kid played for him in 2009-2010.
Here's what I see:
Jorge played for legendary baseball coach John Scolinos at Cal Poly Pomona in the 80's, and he has told me that is where he learned alot of his ideas.
He and Tony Rico also communicate and share ideas all the time.
His practices are fast paced and high energy, with a ton of reps.
But he takes time to stop and correct players, instead of just mindless reps.
He focuses on quickness and cutting down on wasted motion for infield defense.

The thing I admire about Jorge is he has a real passion for the game, and it comes out in his demeanor and the way his teams play.
He is truly a nice guy, and always lets former players or most any player that wants to participate, take part in his practices, including many who aren't even on his team.
Deserve's got nothin' to do with it.
