Police called to 10U game in Indy!

by artomatic » Wed Oct 20, 2010 1:26 pm

I always wondered why people on here and around the sport would say how their perspective changes over time as their kid progresses.
It is so true.
I remember in 8's and 10's, even 12's and 14's, I could recite every stat of my kid and her teammates, how many K's, batting average, how many games, etc. I could tell you scores and details from 8u games from years before. Batters' tendencies, how to pitch to a hitter, which kids to walk, etc...Ask anyone that has known me since back then.

Now, sitting in my chair on the sidelines, it's so funny, people will ask me:
"what's the score?" "I don't know."
"Do you know who we play next?" "Not sure."
"Do you know where so and so is playing?" "No."
"Do you know which game your kid is throwing?" "No, they don't tell me that stuff."

And they say "wow, you used to know all this stuff, what happened?"

So, to those in 10's, don't get offended, butt hurt, etc. when others laugh and tell you things will change over time.
It's not an insult, it's just how it evolves.
And most of us are seing ourselves from a few years ago.
I am anyways.
Deserve's got nothin' to do with it.

Expect yer 10 studs to be 14u or possibly 18u DUDS after burning them out and/or injurerying them out with such an over zealous schedule.

Dont shoot the messenger, just the coaches that will overplay yer kids....................
I think, that I shall try to do the utmost to be new today

I would rather see that police are called if there is any indication that a situation may get out of hand, and then nothing happen, then someone wait until punches are thrown to make the call.

Based only on the information shared in this forum, it appears that there was a potential for someone pumped up on testosterone to do something stupid. Wouldn't be the first time it ever happened.

Catfanblue has it exactly correct. I was at this incident and this is exactly what happened. There were kids from 2 years old up to 10 years old all around him..... This made the testosterone flare up quickly.
Catfanblue7 wrote:This was a non-event... A parent from one team was walking back to his vehicle, talking on the phone to his wife about things that had happened, used some inappropriate language (did not remember with the kids being around) and a parent from the other team took exception to the language, came and started in on him for his language with a baby in her arms... A couple dads from her team came to make sure she was ok, so a couple dads from the other team saw them rushing over, came to make sure the numbers did not get ridiculous if something happened... There was never any physical contact or even any physical threats, but someone in the crowd panicked and said "Somebody call 911, shorty fire burnin on the dance floor"....

It was definitely much adoo about nothing as far as the police were concerned...
