Who has class?

What's on your mind?

Battle - If you read my post, you will see that you have taken things out of context. I am not looking for a fight. Peace. Catwoman

Knowing the Coach, let me say that his methods are non-conventional but with great returns. His players know he has the best intentions.Smashing an ASA trophy to prove a point may not be best idea, but any plublicity might be good.Three VERY good Tennessee teams are coming to the Nationals so I guess we'll see, and it is just a game...

Class Act....The coaches of Team Anderson 99 who lead our girls through a great season and a fantastic first place finish at the 2010 Triple Crown World Series.

Our coaches never beat their chests or brag over every victory or make excuses for losses. They set a fine example of what good sportsmanship is to our girls always. They teach the game as they know it and push for excellence. They are not flashy, our girls aren't flashy but they love the game and play it as hard as they know how.

Congratulations Team Anderson 99 girls who bring it to the field and to the coaches who lead and teach!

So as an "obnoxious" proud parent I am sounding off instead. TEAM ANDERSON LADIES ROCK!!!

She saw a coach do it, therefore it's o.k. If she is removed from the team, then is she harmed? If a team loses a sponsor over something like this, is the girl then harmed? DD has not played for a coach that would put up with this for any reason for one minute - she'd be removed from the team before she left the field. Some people feel that if it works for the team and for them, then it's o.k. Therein lies the problem - it's the all about me or the team attitude that is so prevalent in sports these days. People do stupid things all the time but you try to minimize those when you are leading kids because as a coach you are setting an example. No matter how you look at it, this guy blew it and in our communication age, it gets around.

For ease of reading, allow me to edit your post down to the relevant part:

"I seriously doubt that anyone on the team was harmed or traumatized seriously by this coach's actions."

There. Much better.
There is no charge for awesomeness
...or attractiveness.

The 3rd base coach of Artesia Punishers (98 I think). Played the team this past week in the 12u TCS Tournament in Park City Utah. What a class act he was. Positive, respectful, encouraging. Made an impression on more than one parent from our team. By the time I got all the chairs ect., away...he was gone. What a breath of fresh air he was! So to the coach with the towel around your neck.....Well done, and Thank You!!!!

Hopefully he is now ex-coach

For those who don't know the whole situation, its better not to stick your nose where it doesn't belong. And besides who needs trophys to prove a point to someones ability, skill or talent.

No he didn't. He has a loyal group of girls that would run through a wall if he asked. He takes his own time and money for this team and doesn't have any reason to mess it up. As long as it didn't bother our girls or parents what should it even matter to anyone else.

Thanks....we do quite a bit and have won over 90% of the 14-u games we've played in. Its better to laugh in private in your case. :)

That coach is a complete and utter ASSHAT who has absolutely no business coaching children. You're on his team and want to defend him? Rationalize away. I'm certain you would feel the same way if one of your kid's teachers acted like that. Oh wait. Thats different. Education is far LESS important than a bunch of 12 year olds playing a game. Yeah, like that behavior would fly if a teacher pulled that emotionally unstable act and defended his assinine behavior by saying he was trying to motivate his students. That would be the end of that teacher's career unless he left the area and found a job where they didn't know he had EVER pulled that kind of stunt.

I will never ceased to be amazed at what parents condone in the context of sports but in absolutely no other context. But then again, there is no shortage of pitiful souls who long to be on reality TV.

Obviously you have never played any organized sport of any kind. If you think for one minute that coaches are all smiles and kisses you would be crazy.Watch a college football game on tv and let them show clipboards, hats etc. being thrown or broken. Don't comment on things you know nothing about.
