Anderson Bat Q & A

I was on the post about a month ago trying to decide the next bat for my DD. After demo'ing a few other brands and models, she decided on another Techzilla FP 32in. It's a lot of bat and I was concerned whether my 10 yo would be able to handle it. Well, something has clicked, whether it is the bat, swing mechanics, mental confidence from having a new bat, but she is driving the ball consistently 180 feet with effortless swings.

Yesterday my DD drove a ball straight back at the pitcher and thank goodness she was skilled enough to field it, otherwise it would not have been pretty.

I coach high school ball and 14A ASA ball in Oregon. I've been around a few years and despite all of the time I spend immersed in the sport, I have never seen one of these Techzillas that are being discussed in this forum. I have seen a player on an opposing team swing a Rocket Tech every now and then, but none of my players have used one. Generally speaking, Anderson has no presence whatsoever up here.

Over the last few years, my players have been swinging a variety of bats: DeMarini (CF4, Phenix, Onyx, Evo), Easton (various Stealth and Synergy models), TPS (Catalyst, Triton), Miken (Rain, Halo, Oklahoma City), Rip-It (Elite, Force), Mizuno (Wrath), and others. I actually own several of these bats myself.

If Anderson's bats are as great as everybody says, then where the heck are they? I know we are a small market compared to So Cal, but you'd think someone up here would have one of these bats. I'm tempted to order one myself to let my girls try it out. Is it worth it? Where can I get the best deal?

By the way, I believe this is the first time I have posted on this site. I have enjoyed logging in from time to time to pick up some new information, tips, drills etc. This is a great forum for softball-related information.

There are a lot of players in Seattle area that swing RocketTechs. You always have to pitch them carefully.

Portland is De Marnini country so you see more De Marnini's than normal. Anderson is a Southern California company.

The RockeTech's are very popular here in North Carolina. We do not see many TechZillas, probably due to RT's success in the market. The NanoTech is starting to show up more although I think the price is hindering its penetration.

Typically the bigger, stronger girls have the Anderson bats, although with the weighting system they use, any player can swing them. I think some of the girls get a little "freaked out" by the feel of the absolute weight.

The thin handle grip is great for girls' smaller hands and there is no sting even on mishits off the end of the bat.

When it is hit properly in the sweet spot there is no mistaking the Anderson sound off the bat. It is almost an electrical zing sound. The ball flies off the bat with minimal effort.

The best deals on new Anderosn bats are on eBay, but the warranty does not apply if you purchase them from the "auction websites". So be cautious who you buy from.

My 10 year swung a 30in TZ for about 2 years (at least 5,000 swings) and no obvious wear other than a few scratches on the graphics. She loves the 32 in TZ she has been swigning for about 2 months now.

Max you should pick up a rocketech and a techzilla both these are great bats I promise you. While you are at it pick up one of Anderson's latest creation the NanoTeck girls love these bats.
If players have never used a bat with an end load the Rocketech does take a few swings off the tee to get use to. Anderson bats are far better than most of all the bats that you just named.

My daughter switched from her 32" Mayhem to a used 33" RT, and it has helped her with more power. I am looking at getting a new bat, and while the RT has been good, we are also looking at the Nano. The RT may just swing a bit too heavy for her. We have not seen too many of them here in North Texas, but speaking to those that are using them we have heard from quite a few that the sweet spot is quite small, compared to for example a Stealth Speed.

Online reviews seem to say the same thing. How is that tested by Anderson Bat? Has anyone else experienced this?

I live in Portland Or and my daughter only swings a techzilla but owns the nanotech... In HS, at the 6A level I saw 3 or 4 girls swings techzillas. Mostly the purple version but I saw a few greens (dd swings and likes the looks).

What team you coach? DD plays for 14a Blaze... If we play you, she'll be the lead off who steals 2nd on ya If we play, you'll see a techzilla in action...

If you'd like, I can loan you her nano 32/22 and I have a practice techzilla 32-23 (-9) you can have your bigger hitters swing...

My DD(14U) has been waiting patiently for the Nanotek(31/21) to arrive here in Surrey BC Canada. I placed the order on Aprill 22 I know it is back order. I know it will come sooner or later.

I'm hoping the wait will be worthwhile. I'm done buying composites, I'm gonna go NANO! for her.
She broke 2 speed bats and her 4yr old stealth, same bat in college world series(grey/gold).

Max was your kid and her team entered the Hillsboro Open this pass weekend? Too bad Sunday was a rain out. My Kids team was The Fraser Valley Fusion.
