DFW High School Teams

by bbgold13 » Sat Mar 13, 2010 2:49 pm

Haven't heard any comments lately on area high schools... Any surprises? Players or schools? I'm out of the loop these days - one dd out of school, other not there yet!

Just curious about what players are standing out and what schools are the ones to beat.

6-4A most likely finish this waY IS MY BEST GUESS
1 - Azle (in district 13-1)
2 - Birdville (in district 12-2)
3 - Boswell (in district 11-3)
4 - Aledo (in district 8-6)

all the talk is about Fentriss at Birdville but when healthy Ditmore at Azle may be better.
Boswell - Hank has enough around her to compete with Azle and Birdville
top 3 could change
Aledo's biggest issue is the catchers are calling pitches and both catchers have never called pitches before.

4A
region 1 - Denton Guyer looks to be the team for region 1 at this time
region 2 - Frisco Wakeland has Cantu on the mound and a lot of good hitters - deadly combination

heard the mansfield legacy coach ran off 2 more of her starters with her anger outbursts, there senior pitcher also checked out at the semester break. too much talent at this school for an under achieving tyrant coach. many girls won't even play for this lady including gold level players. no wonder she has trouble filling and keeping barely two teams every year. hopefully the district will wake up and find a solution.

Some of these girls have really bad attitudes. They are signed somewhere so they don't give 100% on the High School field.

All of the committed players we watch in hs still give 100%. Why would a player not? The college coaches are still interested in how they are doing, no? They didn't get committed because of their 'slacking' ability.

Well maybe she will run a couple more off before we see them in our second district game. It will help us out. They are a good team. But we look forward to the challenge.
8-4A should be interesting atleast.

Hey al-e-do

Those Ladycats are clawing their way up and the Hornets are free falling! Is Ditmore to highly rated or is everyone figuring her out and hitting their strides sooner? Birdville and Boswell played a good one Friday. Coach Hank F. From Saginaw always seems to beat someone he is not supposed to and I would say he wasn't supposed to beat Azle. I watched Saginaw bunt Azle to death Friday night! That may leave the Hornets as the odd team out of the playoffs this season!

Lots of young teams and future stars yet to be in HS for most of these teams.
Aledo has a soph pitcher and soph catcher that should continue to get better, and their junior right fielder has the best stix in the district. Even though they are losing a lot of talented seniors this season there are several very talented girls coming up to H.S. next year, with big stixs.

Azle has some young talent coming up to help Ditmore in her senior season. Mostly freshman this year but they should be making a name for themselves very soon. A couple of them are very fast on the bases, and could make an impact (if allowed) on that Azle infield.

Birdville has a young freshman pitcher that should take over where her Varsity counterpart leaves off. Add that to a talented younger class, both existing and coming soon, and they should continue to do well in this district.

Boswell is graduating several girls this year especially Hanks and Cat, but they will still have Cool, and a young core coming up. Freshman 3rd base is a very smart player and their soph pitcher should continue to do well next year.

Brewer is young with even more girls coming up. Brewer will have 3 x incoming freshman pitchers and at least one of them would start anywhere. They will certainly miss their Senior SS (KK) but will have sufficient girls to go around with solid bats. Look for them to immediately get better next year! They should have JV players next year that could play Varsity in most places! Their future looks bright..........again!

Adios Springtown (3A) and Mineral Wells (3A) next year, as well as Saginaw (5A).

Looks like Aledo has changed and gone to the sophmore pitcher the last 3 games.
Azle's defense is killing them and the only consistant offense is Ditmore and Wilson. I think it is tough on Ditmore to play 1st for 3 innings and then have to come in cold and pitch.

Hank is a good coach and always expect his young team to be better the 2nd half of district. I watched Saginaw bunt Azle to death Friday night! That may leave the Hornets as the odd team out of the playoffs this season!

Even though they are losing a lot of talented seniors this season there are several very talented girls coming up to H.S. next year, with big stixs. Aledo will lose all on varsity but Soph pitcher and 4 juniors. Not much help on the JV. Lets hope the kids coming next year and are playing at least 16U this summer and next fall.

A couple of them are very fast on the bases, and could make an impact (if allowed) on that Azle infield. I agree Azle has some freshmen that are on JV and look to be talented enough to help the varsity this year.
