Any prediction on the St. Paddy's So Cal Finest ???????

by NumeroUno » Sun Mar 21, 2010 7:56 pm

There was this controversy in the 14U bracket seeding between Corona Angels against San Diego Renegages where they were cheated out of a higher seed and you and Numero Uno just kind of looked away from it.

Not true their was a mistake in the brackets and they were fixed before the first game.

I am done with you, good luck

This is the same umpire format used at the 18G HB Surf City Showcases and other showcases. You have the same umpires for almost all of your games, so get used to it. What you do learn is not to piss them off, especially that first game.

Wow, that's a crazy suggestion. Most teams should be able to get close to 7 innings at 1:40 unless you have those blowout innings.

Sorry, Spaz, but we too have to agree with some of the worst umpires, not knowing the rules. As a matter of fact, Coach Kenny had to call time and remind one blue who was positioned between ss and 3B that there are no runners on, shouldn't he be on the first base foul line..? It was comical, stike zones were all over the place, inconsistent and just poor, hard to make adjustments when the zone is constantly changing. Other than that, great tournament!

Spaz,
Your on a sinking ship going down quick if your going to continue defend some of these umps from this weekend. Forget about the IFF I witnessed for a moment, look at the calls that were made in the Firecracker/Punishers game that got the coach ejected from the game. I personally witneseed a bunch of botched calls during the tourney. Not to mention the very, very, inconsistant strike zone some of these umps had. Instead of defending some of these numnuts, try listening to some of us instead of bashing us. At the end of the day, all of us make hey bucket what it is. If it weren't for us, hey bucket would be you and N.O. chatting back and forth.

As for the IFF, read rule 1 definitions-infield fly, then read rule 1 definitions-fly ball. You will understand my point. As for your comment about what I think doesn't matter, you are correct.

Minors Gold vs Lady Magic was a very good game till they screwed up on two calls in a row in last inning was a 0-0 game.

Thought showcases don't matter? These 12u girls still care about winning.

Krush needs a manpon, your team lost 9-1 so lets blame the umps. The parents on the Firecracker team that played the Punishers have no class. I heard what your wonderful coaching staff said to the ump. You are lucky he isn't in jail. Shut up and you and your rec ball mentality take little Susie back to rec where you belong

Comments from the weekend (Don't kill me!). ;)

I really like this complex for games. Fields were in very good shape. Lots of parking, snack bar was good, and thanks for the fences. Playing at 200' is so much better than 300'. Find some really big fans to blow away the thousands of bugs flying around in the outfield. That was pretty gross!

I know some like it, but I think the bracket format needs to be worked a bit. I like the format of 4 team pools (or something close to that), then bracket them out based on results in the pool. I think it leads to a better distribution going into Sunday. I don't like having to see a team that we played on Saturday in the first game on Sunday.

The umpires are what they are. We saw some bad calls, and we saw some umpires not knowing the rules, and I hate for that to decide games. There were some pretty loud parent groups on fields next to ours on Sunday...

Overall, very good job. Looking forward to next month.

I will let the tournament director know all of your concerns.

Not sure what we can do about the bugs but I will call the parks and rec and let them know.

The UIC will also be called today to discuss a few things.
