10U TOP TEAM RANKING (SOCAL) PRE-ASA STATES FINAL RANKING !

by cublowme » Thu Mar 18, 2010 3:47 pm

So I heard that Firecrackers 99 lost a couple of more players. What is going on? Seems like the pastures aren't so green anymore. Maybe the 10U top 10 will be changing sooner than later :?:

That seemed to have been the rumor floatin around in Vegas, either way I'm sure coach Shawn an the FC will be just fine. It's not about the Dude's rankings, but about your team peaking at the right time not fall, not now, but summer time!

Just a quickie news alert. I went to check the Fresno Force website this morning and the website says payments need to be in by March 31. I see the same 8 teams as paid for the last 5-6 weeks so not sure if that part has been updated or not.

Is anyone going that has paid and the website hasn't been updated yet ? This one is usually the last main regional tournament before ASA SoCal States and allows exposure to teams all across CA. SoCal's Finest has taken some steam from Fresno Force in 12U's and beyond but this is still a big one for 10U as there is no So Cal Finest 10U (yet). Cerritos Franchise 98 was the winner with Victory USA 98 coming in 2nd last year. Victory later won States and Nationals afterwards.

Let us know if you are going.

Strike Force 2000 held them 1-0  .

Not taking anything away from Strike Force, but I am not sure Rebels can compete with the BEEG DAWGS !!!!

Saw that team from RR Gold play, I believe they are for real. Team is solid! Scores don't always tell you everything, just the final outcome (which matters most at the end) Coach is doing it right too...he plays all his girls which at this level is pretty important. He plays to win but he also makes sure the girls develop as they move on up to bigger and better things. this sometimes gets lost to some who are out to win at all cost.

Hello Everyone. Seems teams are getting back into the swing of the things once again after some recovery time from either the TCS tournament / St. Paddy’s Day Vegas / and/or local Spring breaks.

Just to give you an update, as I said a few times, the next poll, due to be coming out soon will be coach and manager driven before Fresno Force and once again before States (yikes it’s getting to be that time already !...)

After some private correspondence, and without going into details, it was deemed that Firecrackers 99 will be removed from this upcoming poll while they have some time to get ready for the rest of the season.

That being said, and in exciting news, there will be a new #1 10U team on the next poll one way or another and a new everything. What also might change is the number of teams ranked too. Depending on the scores, teams with 1 point which were in the top 15-20 previously might be omitted. So in the end we might only have a Top 15 or Top 12 depending on the voting.

I did want to also mention, not all teams and coaches are struggling with this issue, but it is important to not take this poll too seriously. Keep in mind negative and abusive behavior wasn’t acceptable in Rec. Ball, All-Stars, it is not appropriate in any organized youth competitive sports, it is not acceptable in the home, and it isn’t acceptable in 10U youth travel ball either. Some coaches need to get re-aligned with proper behavior and turn things around in a positive manner as a role model for their team and this especially applies to the parents as well.

I even heard some complaints were taken to the ASA themselves recently and it would be a shame if teams were to lose their opportunity to compete because coaches cannot behave themselves. All your hard work would be ruined for nothing right before the big prize. So please, these are little girls, the games are not do or die. The poll is merely a conversation piece and a way to track the progress of our children and a way to recognize Southern California Youth 10U travel programs and travel organizations which always compete at a national level.

If voting from an "outsider" counts....lol...

Just wanted to say that definately 1 tourney does not make for a whole season, but OCBB was the best team in Vegas...(yes, I know they won..lol...but overall weekend play of all the teams)

(kudo's to #95 also with all the teams having just great athletes..)

Followed closely by CE, JINX, Watley and Athletics...

I believe JINX has a better overall record and CE has taken some grief on this thread, but they did play very well and obviously proved they belong..

Great teams all, with all having just lights out pitching....!!!

JINX...CE game was a great one....

I would like to also thank all the parents from all the teams for their hospitality...
OCBB mom and parents and CE parents and coaches with all the parents from all the teams being very kind, gracious and class acts....

I have to agree with mad dog, BB did look the best that weekend and they will be very tough now that they are hitting the ball well!! I will also say that the 5 top teams that were in Vegas are all very close
and can be anyones ball game depending on who's bats catch fire and who makes less errors! I would say there are 7 teams that are very good, I'm still including FC on that list until they prove otherwise, so FC, Jynx, Bombers, Athletics, BB, Watley and CE get ready cuz its going to get interesting!!
