here is what was posted about so cals finest

Coaches/Scouts:

The Worth Firecrackers and Minors Gold are proud to present So Cals Finest tournaments for all ages at http://www.socalsfinest.com/

We will be offering our first SHOWCASE tournament on June 12, 13, 2010. The tournament features 16U and 18U teams and will be held at our new 8 field Diamond Valley Sports Complex in Hemet California, and nearby Winchester Park, and Wheat Field Park.

We will be providing a team roster publication for every college coach along with a shaded rest area with complimentary refreshments. In addition we will serve a complimentary mid-day meal at the Diamond Valley Complex each day.

The tournament will also provide transportation for all college coaches to each field on an hourly schedule negating the use of your automobiles and the headache of finding accessible parking.

Although it is months before the tournament is scheduled we have commitments from 40 18U teams including: O.C. Batbusters, Sorcerers, Cruisers, Choppers, Worth Firecrackers, S. C. Athletics, Corona Angels, Lady Magic, Hot Shots Gotti and many more of the top area teams. This is an invitation only tournament and we are now sending another round of invitations in order to reach our goal of 48 18U teams. In addition we are sending invitations out to the finest 16U organizations and we anticipate a positive response from the top teams.

All games will feature no new inning after one hour and thirty minutes and will drop dead at one hour and forty minutes. It is our experience seven innings can often be completed within this time frame.

On Friday June 11, 2010, Derek and Joann Allister of OnDeck Softball will be showcasing many of the areas outstanding unsigned players in the first annual So Cals Finest Jamboree. The action will begin at 10am and conclude at 5pm. Do not miss this exciting array of top players as they display their skills. This will be an invitation only event for the top 108 players in the 2011-2014 classes.

We will be providing more information on the website in the near future including hotel accommodations.

There will be just as many coaches at JO Classic as SC Finest. Colleges will send one coach to each place - Hemet and Las Vegas. that is what I am hearing from the coaches I have been speaking with.

The hemet facility with only 8 fields can only host 40. Las Vegas will host over 150 teams. Las Vegas has a NFCA affliated camp. SCF does not have a recruiting camp. Where would you prefer to spend a weekend Hemet or Las Vegas.

Now, where do you think most of the college coaches are going to be?

I heard they already have a lot of top D-1 schools committed

how do the sour grapes taste Intel

btw it looks like So Cals Finest already has over 70 teams that have paid and they have not shut it down yet.

They don't know, don't they boycott grapes up there.

Competition is a great thing, but why have these on the same weekends?
Ill get a 3rd to half the pie by competing against an established tourney/camp/event.(at first, perhaps more in years to come)
Instead of making a new date and doing it on a weekend that is all yours.
Is there a reason why they are not doing these on a different dates??(your sign not in alignment with Jupiter :?: )
Ill watch out, a enemy of my enemy is my friend....If they get the smarts, they might just look to gang up on you?? Enough dates out there for everyone to be happy...? Or is this a hostile take over of the softball world??
St Paddys March 20-21st/ April 24-25th / June 12-13. All had established tournaments on those dates..(not to sure about the other dates) where a lot of So-Cal teams had gone in the past...
Good luck...One way or another..

The OnDeck Softball Camp put on by Derek and Joanne Allister is the best camp out there - bar none. You will have all the top D1 schools there to watch the players. It is an INVITE-Only camp and is by far the best exposure a player can have. I love helping the Allisters with this camp and look forward to this camp too. They will be using 3 fields separated by graduation year (2011,2012,2013/14).

So Cals Finest will have, I believe, 48 teams in the 18U division. It, too, is by invite and is full at this time. The 16U division does have openings for 6 teams. The 16U will be using the 5 fields at Menifee while the 18U will use 3 fields at Winchester and 8 fields at the main complex at Diamond Valley Park. All fields are within 10-15 minutes from the main complex at Diamond Valley Park.

The JO Classic in Vegas will offer their NFCA Camp which is open registration to all players. Have heard that it is not attended by tons of coaches but it does offer exposure to all levels of players. Vegas will not have many of the top So Cal teams but will still have teams from all over the country and wil give you a chance to play out of state teams.

Each offers exposure if your players are doing there jobs and contacting coaches. Coaches will be at both showcases.

Probably where the best teams are going to be.

Actually, there are hundreds of colleges (not the Top 25) that do not follow the top teams.
They know they have little or no chance to sign the top players on those teams to their smaller schools. Plus many of the top teams already have almost all their kids committed. No doubt that the big schools will be at the Allisters camp (as they always are cuz it is the best camp out there) but they will also send a coach to Vegas. The turnout at both showcases will be good as this is the kickoff for the summer.
