***RAIN UPDATE***updated 1/19/10 @ 6:30pm

Due to the weather that has hit the North County San Diego area, the facilities that were to be used will not be playable for the 2010 AFC Winter Showcase Tournament. The amount of rainfall thus far combined with the forecasted amounts over the next three days leave us no choice but to cancel the tournament for this coming weekend.

If you have any questions please direct them to Ken@AFCShowcase.com.

We will be discussing alternate dates in the next couple of days...looking quickly at a calendar it doesn't look good. So Cal's Finest next weekend, Super Bowl the weekend after that, and then Surf City and the second ASA Gold Classifier the last weekend before High School.

Once we get together and make a decision I will be sure to update the website as well as post an update here on Hey Bucket.

Due to the extreme weather conditions that have hit Southern California over the past week the AFC Winter Showcase Tournament had to unfortunately be cancelled. Due to the limited amount of time before the High School season begins and the existing tournaments that are scheduled over the next few weekends there will be no make up date.

The good news (if there is any) is that due to the fact that we were able to cancel the tournament so early we were able to save on many of the fixed costs related to running the tournament. Because of this fact the AFC Board has decided that for the 2010 Winter Tournament we will be adjusting the Refund/Carryover policy.

Rather then 1/3 being non-refundable and 2/3 carrying over to the next tournament we have decided it would be best to refund most all of the $525 entry fee. Teams will be contacted over the next two weeks with information regarding their $500 refund check. In order to make this process easier we ask that teams wait until their team representative is contacted by one of our staff.

Lastly, we encourage teams to use the online entry form to sign up for the Fall (October) 2010 Showcase Tournament.

As always please email Ken@AFCShowcase.com if there are any additional questions.

Thanks in advance to all for their participation, understanding, and patience.
