I really do not like entering into discussions on this message board because it tends to get fairly silly! But the nature of this event is far from silly! The individual who was arrested for this did at one time coach for our program up until 2008 and then moved on to other organizations , she then was hired as an assistant with MCC and came back and helped with recruiting this last summer. After the summer she moved on to another Org. again. This coach just like all other Head Coaches had a background check ran on her during her Ace certification. She had no record of ever having any issues that would have alerted us in any way? She certainly had a background check done by MCC prior to her being hired there!
The entire time that she was employed as a coach for our org. she handled herself very professionally and in no way ever displayed any behavior that would have brought her behavior into question! What she has been accused of is without a doubt very disturbing to me and to our program! When I heard the news I was shocked as was Im sure everyone else! It is shocking because you just cant fathom anything like this happening! I worry about the young victim and hope that she is doing ok , and cannot imagine how her family must feel!

I can assure you that we at the Bomber program know that our number one priority is the protection of our players! Above all else this is our number one priority.....It is disappointing that one person can cause so much hurt! The players in our program do so many amazing things , from Raising over $25,000 for the American Cancer Societies Relay for Life over the past two years to working with many young kids from our local area...they have established themselves to be on the right track! This hurt their faith in being able to believe in people and feeling as if they too had been betrayed!

Please do not toy with this as a subject to bash the "Bombers"...you can bash me for whatever you want! Just do not include innocent young people who are already pretty upset over the fact that this happened in the first place. The court system will handle this and in the end hopefully all of the people that have been hurt by this can heal from this and find a way to move forward.

Now that's how you address something like this. A notable departure from how similar incidents have been handled by organizations on here in the past.

That said, when you're the president of a youth sports organization, it should be your business to "fathom" something like this happening. I trust that suitable precautions will be implemented on a going-forward basis...

Point made skarp! It is funny how personally everyone can take some stupid post on some stupid web site. The name calling and offence that every body takes . I am glad that my point was finnally seen. This was only put on here to draw attention to a bigger issue. Girls who are being taken advantage by the people they trust the most. Their COACHES! I am not sayin that all coaches out there are bad, so just settle down. My biggest point was to get attention to this issue that happens way too much and sometime goes un noticed or never known about and not placed in the news for every body to hear about. so i had to bring up the fact that it happened with a coach that used to coach for the bombers. i know how pissed those bombers can get. so i figured i'd get every body pissed oh well. at least they are talking about the bigger issue of protection our girls from predators and keeping a better watch on them instead of "which is the top houston/dfw team crap"! point made. thanks for addressin it scott. now everybody keep a good eye on their kids.

What a load of horse sh#t!!! Don't come back on here trying to clean up after yourself.

Your point was plain and simple...Trash the Bombers! The fact that they had a creep in their midst....A YEAR AGO...was simply a convenient tool to come on HB and FAIL! Further evidence of your agenda is the fact that you're not "concerned" or mention the most recent organization this putz used to be associated with.

Your post is old news and a classic FAIL!!!

Kudos to the Bombers for excellent damage control and rebuttal.

By who?

If I wanted to validate your posts, I would have done so explicitly. I don't...so I didn't.

Some persons seem to want to ignor how serious a problem it is for adults to commit these acts against our children. Joe seems to be formost in this and wanting to defend organizations instead of wanting to stop what is happening to children. Joe do you even have children??

The organization should be held accountable for what coaches associated with them do. The organization shouls accept this responibility and do everything humanly possible to prevent this from happening. I am sure there were some signs from the coach they should have picked up on.

But, parents don't depend on anyone to protect your children but yourselves. Educate them watch for signs of misbehavior on part of coaches. As you can see just because a coach is a woman does not mean your child is safe.

Joe, if I have spoken unjustly bad about you i am sorry. Please think about the children first instead of thinking of the organization first.
