10U TOP TEAM RANKING (SOCAL) PRE-ASA STATES FINAL RANKING !

by SoCal10UDude » Fri Dec 04, 2009 11:35 am

Usually at this point in time you will just hear talk but the first major tournament is St. Paddy's Day in Vegas and that will tell you the real who's who in 10U. A month later is Fresno Force and that will definately tell you the top 4-5 and "everyone else". States I see as the major qualifier and at the point where teams truly making a run for Nationals should start to peak and some teams start to unravel and end it all. There is the Pacific Regional Tournament as well to qualify but I think 10U was cancelled last year for lack of teams and as a qualifier it is tough as it is usually just a couple/few weeks before full blown Nationals and one would need a lot of cash reserve to qualify at Regionals and a few weeks later hop on a plane for Nationals.

Absolutely all 10U teams should do States for a couple of reasons:

1. Automatic Berth to Western Nationals, not only for the experience but for the berths for next year 2011 as Desperados and Aztecs are taking advantage of for 2010 and/or teams that have a 2yr plan, can be especially good for '00 teams playing now.

2. After states and no plan to qualify or attend Western Nats, unless you're gonna do TCS, your season is over in May. If you're on a team like that, you might want to consider rec/All-Stars as your season will be longer and your daughter with All-Stars can be playing for a few months longer.

Please also let me know if I am missing any teams or teams that should be mentioned that are not. Currently it is difficult to see which are real travel teams and which are only winterball or temporary teams doing travel and going back to rec.

You can email me at: socal10udude@gmail.com

Enjoy, and lets make Texas look like gossipy amateurs !!!!

I just want to let socaldude that he was way off on the top 10u rankings. Alot of the teams he had in the top 10 of his list got smashed by some teams down in the 30 slot like the corona eliminators.....damm look out for them to put the smash on most of those teams out there

Gee, can anyone guess what team Sureno is from ?

30 slot ? CE 99 is currently ranked #15. I thought that was pretty generous since as of a few weeks ago were playing winterball rec.

Not sure what your beef is with my top 10 considering we match 8 out of 10 teams.

J Fierce is mostly right. Currently it is Firecrackers and Jynx and "everyone else". Very few 10U teams have dominant #1s let alone a dominant #2. Currently only Firecrackers have that kind of depth in pitching, but what matters is spring, not December.

The 10U coaches poll will be out mid-next week and at that point, the 10U coaches themselves will decide where everyone is at.

Sureno is way off. The Dude is alot closer in his rankings. I've been to freindlies and saw Jynx beat every team Sureno has ranked ahead of them except firecrackers. A matter of fact Jynx beat most of those teams using their 2nd and 3rd pitchers.

Didn't USA Revolution beat Corona Eliminators at the Jynx Friendly a couple of weeks ago? Yet Sureno has them ranked ahead of them. He must work for the BCS :D
