Top 10U teams in the state

by softballfan33 » Mon Nov 16, 2009 8:32 am

Okay, time for the real guessing game to begin. Since the Houston teams don't really go to Dallas and the Dallas teams don't go to Houston (ASA vs. USFA) and the Central Texas teams are stuck in the middle, take your guess as to the best teams in the state...

Humble Cobras will be one of the best, with Crossfire, Pasadena Angels and Pearland Phantoms trying their best to beat them.

There are a number of teams that make my list but I think that I will wait until the Bomber Classic in March to make my final choices. I can tell you that I think the NT Rampage is top ten material, but I'm biased.

You're laughing LOL because no one in NTX is talking that kind of trash. We leave that to the H-Town teams. lol

I would love to see a home and away Top 10 throwdown following the Bomber. You would have to include those two teams from Central Texas though, 4 from DFW and 4 from Houston.

I would agree, invitational tournament to have a real answer, but Bomber Shootout won't answer the question. My understanding is there is going to be a big tournament in Houston opposite Bomber Shootout to pull teams that way. Plus, Bombers won't be allowed to play this year as they are working the tournament and given results from this last weekend you have to consider them in the hunt from Central Texas along with the Blaze.

Top teams

Houston - Humble 99, TPS 99, Kingwood has always been reasonably strong but haven't heard much this fall, Hearing lots from Crossfire but haven't seen them play. Probably have to include Pasadena in the list.

Dallas - from what I have watched there - Kruzers, NT Rampage, Glory will be a question in the spring once the 98's move on, Threat.

Central and the rest of Texas - Blaze and Bombers, Anderson Express 99 probably gets consideration in this group.

Anyone else???

Texas Folks

There is a team from CA called Firecrackers 99 that will dismantle any team in Texas... IMHO

All this Texas talk may be senseless rhetoric once it comes to Nationals.

You wait... you'll see. I believe so far this Fall they are 30-0... Beat a 98 team in the finals of a recent
1-day tournament...DD played them this weekend and lost 22-0 after they had just beat teams 18-1 and 16-0 before that... They beat CA's best 10U teams in the same way!!!

Good luck with that buzzsaw if you make it that far.... ;)

Actually, since this was a discussion for Texas teams, not sure it matters, but we can post one for the top teams in the nation next. This was more because the Texas teams are really divided into two areas and the debate continues. Thanks for your input though. We will watch for them in Tennessee.

I know, just thought I should be the jerk to light some sort of fire under So Cal's butts to start talking about their 10U's...
Very outstanding team though...

FYI - I know that the 99 Bombers, back in October, contacted a lot of these teams listed to try to get together a round robin friendly so that the better teams from East Texas, Dallas and Houston as well as Central Texas could get together and play against each other. They contacted us as well but it cancelled at the last minute. Cost was $20 per team plus pay at the plate. I know the Kruzers were in as well as the TPS. Glory had been called and couldn't make it, I heard. Kingwood and Anderson Express 99 were on the list as well. Wonder if they would be interested in hosting again. A round robin friendly with those teams and a few more!!???!!! That would be a fun one to see without the "extra" teams that show up at tournaments. The lady who contacted us is on their VTD website. If you are reading this, you might ask around again. Sounds like there are several who would support this kind of "get together", especially after your showing this weekend.
