Top 12U teams in the DFW Metroplex

by mtwinsfan » Mon Oct 26, 2009 6:06 pm

Hello everyone. My husband and I are fairly new to the DFW area. We've recently moved here from Minnesota. Our son and daughter were involved in sports back home (football, indoor soccer, and seasonal softball) and we're trying to get connected down here in the North Texas area. My daughter is 11 and played recreational soccer the last few weeks of spring but has decided she wants to hang up the soccer cleats and go back to softball. Who are the top 12U girls softball teams in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area that my husband and I can check on?

Thanks everyone for their input.

From a old timer I will tell you it's not the top team you should be looking for but a overall better fit for your daughter (What good does it do if she is on the top teams and gets limited playing time rather than showcasing her skills in a better fit team for here) Remember she will go further the more "FUN" she has in this sport.

Just my 2 cents 8-)

Hi there!

Read the posts on HB from the last two years here and you'll be able to eliminate quite a few.

Thanks primetime21 and Joe for writing back! I haven't been able to go through everything that's been posted here. But I will. I was hoping to get a head start on things and call on teams that everyoone thinks are top notch and ones I should contact.

Any help that everyone could offer would be appreciated!

Thanks, Carol

The ones listed are all great teams that I have a lot of respect for but when talking about "top teams" why are only the 98s being listed? What are those teams going to do when they run into these guys at the qualifiers?

97 Glory
X-Factor
97 Mansfield Showtime
97 Texas Pride
97 Fireballs
97 American Freedom
97 Batbusters Spuria
97 Mansfiled Lady Longhorns
97 Texas Fusion
97 Force

Didn't mean to leave anyone off if I did. Oh and Doug-way to throw your team up there!
Just kiddin man I'd put them on this list as well!!!!

Primetime and Minnesota are the same person born 17 minutes apart
What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.

That's a good point about the 97 teams, but if she is 11 then it would be better if she joined a 98 team unless you don't mind her having to move to 14u next year!

I was looking on vtd today and noticed that some of the teams listed that are 98's have not placed in tournaments as often as others have. I noticed the two Forney champs are not on this list, I thought for a second their wins were pure luck for the weekend, but looking at their vtd record they have been placing a lot!! So are they just not considered good coaching or what??

Btw, I don't know the man with the radio but I am already sick of him!!
It's my opinion....and that's all that matters!!

At first I was thinking maybe she's 11 but possibly with a nov/dec bday?? But after ZIGs catch, this whole thread is probably a fake anyway so may as well just continuing on talking about the top teams in the area. ;)

Good point though about the non-listed 98s. 98 Pride, Anderson Express, 98 Shadows, 98 Force are all great teams and I'm sure there are others we're leaving off. Again though-youd see mercy rule against those 97s.
