It is not uncommon for RM to have teams playing down againt their will.
What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.

The above is the team list: HV is not in due to District VB commitments I think Gene said he was missing 8 that weekend...

Notable absent teams:
High Voltage
TPS98
TPS97

I'd put money on Sudden Impact, Storm Elite, Redhots and Austin Storm (96) to round out the top 4

I will also put my money on the Redhots, Storm Elite, and Sudden Impact........and for those 14U's playing down for this one, it may not serve you too well if you get beat by some of these 12U's in the field, especially if they are a '98 :oops: :oops: :oops:

The top teams do not like going to a tournment and see the top portion of a bracket filled with the top teams. Then look at the bottom bracket and see weaker teams filling the bracket. The so called " luck of the draw"

The line from Field of Dreams. " If you build it they will come" The coaches and managers need to start putting the pressure on the TD's to start seeding the teams. One way to put pressure is for the managers to let the td's know if they want the teams support they will try the seeding process. Then "we will come" to your tournment.

We're going to use this format for our 12/11-12/13 Toys for tots invitational 3 pools seeding to a single elimination on sunday 24 team limit (all in one age, 12 in 2 ages, or 3 in 8)

May change a bit but the general idea is below

3 pool games seeding to a single elimination Bracket 4gg
70 min pool games finish the inning, no new inning after 65 minutes games can end in a tie
Win = 2 points
Tie = 1 point
Loss = 0 points

Order of Tie breakers for seeding.
Head to Head
Runs Against
Runs For
Coin Flip

Bracket games 75 minutes or 7 innings, ITB rules if tied
Championship game 7 innings Straight play no time limit, no ITB, extra innings if required.

Teams can sign up 1 year in advance. Most of these teams have been around for a while and know how RM works. I've seen teams that have been added to 12's and 14's in the last several months. It's not that hard, all they had to do was call Jonathan and ask. The 96 Bombers did that a couple of months ago and they got moved from 12 to 14 division.

Last year if I recall there were 3 or 4, 95 teams playing down in the 12u bracket and non of them made the top 3.

Can somebody explain 70 pool finish inning w/ no new innings after 65 min. That seems to cause trouble almost every time we play in tournament that has that format. If it's finish the inning, why not just make it 65 min. What purpose does the 70 min serve, you're not getting any extra minutes cause you can't start new innings after 65. Do TD's have that cause it appears that you're getting longer game.

It's scheduling for the most part as a TD you hope the games end on time or early, even a few minutes helps over the course of a day just like a few minutes over hurt. This helps prevent the home team from rushing 3 quick outs to get another inning or advance their batting order while helping keep the tournament on schedule.

I understand trying to keep tournament on schedule but why not just make it 65 min. I don't get how making it 70 min benefits the teams, they don't really get any extra time or am I just missing something.
