Really -
Maybe you can be the Texas verson of the bracketologist. You need to go to California's website and do your research first because he did a great job last year with the California group. Maybe you can predict this years National Champions.

Afterall...you seem to have plenty of time on your hands.

As much as Really would like to control the voting of the previous poll, there are things to be considered...

(1) At the 12U level the plastic is not as important as preparing for the Spring.
(2) Many teams that are preparing for these tourneys are playing RR tourneys, it would easy to pick weak tourneys to "get the plastic"
(3) Many of these teams are also playing 14U to prepare for the faster, stronger teams
that will be at the top of the state and national tourneys..it is not because 12 is unimportant
(4) These polls have no meaning as it is very simple to get a bunch of family members,
friends and team parents to vote and sway the results.
(5) Many of the 2nd year teams have a tough time practicing due to girls playing VB. This will
keep them from getting the repition that will occur and separate them from others in the
Spring (my DD does not play VB...this is just a fact)

If anyone things the results of this past weekend will have any bearing on the games in the Spring that count you will be stronly disappointed. Have fun with the voting, but a computer
champion means nothing.

The Panthers or Redhots are not considered Houston Metro teams, they should be playing State instead of Metro.
What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.

Unless Gary has a secret passion for softball I probably will not be talking to him in the near future.

Bring It -

Thank You for finally bringing reality back to the HeyBucket board....at first I thought we were being taken over by softball idiots!

Your points are very much a reality and I for one am relieved that there is someone out there with some common sense about what Fall is all about....that is preparation.

Thanks!

Let's see my Daughters team didn't even make the poll so how would I be controling the results

(1) At the 12U level the plastic is not as important as preparing for the Spring. (FYI Trophies mean nothing spring, summer, winter and fall and at all age levels if trophies ever ment anything your in it for the wrong reasons)
(2) Many teams that are preparing for these tourneys are playing RR tourneys, it would easy to pick weak tourneys to "get the plastic" (See my comments to point 1)
(3) Many of these teams are also playing 14U to prepare for the faster, stronger teams
that will be at the top of the state and national tourneys..it is not because 12 is unimportant (More power to them doesn't change the public opinon of the team and it's coaches plus there are 3 choices that adds some opinion on the other 2)
(4) These polls have no meaning as it is very simple to get a bunch of family members,
friends and team parents to vote and sway the results. (It is fun a way to banter back and forth about the season without spending 25 out of 50 posts arguing about who should and should not wear a mask)
(5) Many of the 2nd year teams have a tough time practicing due to girls playing VB. This will
keep them from getting the repition that will occur and separate them from others in the
Spring (my DD does not play VB...this is just a fact) (Every team has this issue it's not a top 3 team issue why not toss in the flu, injury, homework and a whole pile of other excuses)

If anyone things the results of this past weekend will have any bearing on the games in the Spring that count you will be stronly disappointed. Have fun with the voting, but a computer
champion means nothing.(All I can say is    )

Good luck with your team that did not make the list....

Really:

Did not mean to get you all butt-hurt on this one.

My point was I did not see the need for another 12U poll...we already had one. I am glad that you feel my opinion important enough to counter every point. I will counter-point some of your comments.

You say trophies are not important, but you set the tone of the voting by listing how many teams placed 1st - 4th in tourneys...same difference.

As far as bantering back and forth...I agree with your point that it provides this opportunity...so did the other 12 poll. By the way thanks for reminding me to encourage everyone to wear the mask.

As for excuses...I stated my daughter did not play VB so I personally was not making an excuse. I was simply, as I said in my previous post, making a factual statement. The difference you are over-looking is that the things you listed affect all teams which evens the playing field. Only the 2nd year teams (except in very rare circumstances) will be affected by VB because a majority of their girls are in 7th.
