The problem is allot of people do not know the value of a good outfielder, they also don't realize what it takes to be one. My kid may pitch but she has been very grateful for the great outfielders she has played with and plays with now. Sure can help your pitchers stats with kids that can cover the outfield ! Not to mention how they can take the wind out of opposing teams with a great catch in the gap ! :o

In my book, the the kids with wheels and can track a ball of the bat are GOLD ! Most of the teams I see are lacking a great three girl outfield, and most of the reason is because most parents want there kid in the infield ! I know a kid thats from a three 'a' program that made a living in the outfield and loved it. Oh she now plays left field for Texas A&M and started as a freshman. Outfield worked out for her pretty well I would say ! :o

Who got the outfield all stirred up :?:

Outfield …blah blah blah … get back to the “teams” you geniuses, :o more importantly, the big one Burroughs park this weekend, the stage is set for the first showdown for 12u domination this fall.
Who has the guts to pick the top three :?: :?: :?:
3rd place 97 Pearland Panthers over TPS 97 :o
2nd place 97 High Voltage because they bring street cred. 8-)
1st place victory due to a pass ball as time expires 97 Red Hots
(Possible dark horse, mother nature. :( )
Win this one and you have the swagger for the rest of the fall. :ugeek:

This thread has been boring. This should be a good measuring stick for the RM coming up. I think everyone expects the Redhots to be the top dog in the field, but who will give them a run ? Who might catch them asleep ? Are the few so called 98 teams going to go two and out ? Come on lay it out there we have all week to run this one around the bush.

I'll throw it out there...

97 Texas Red Hots
97 Sudden Impact
97 Texas High Voltage
97 TPS
97 Texas Stars (dropped)
97 Pearland Panthers
97 Texas Heat
97 Texas Hawks
98/97 Texas Sting (purple) Hybird cross 8-)
97 Stealth
97Texas Gems
97 Texas Sting
98 Spring Sting :o
98 Texas Peppers :o
97 Texas Storm Elite
97 Texas Lightining
97 Texas Velocity

97 SK Impact
97 Wild Bunch
97 West Houston Wicked

The teams in Red I've never seen play and have not heard anything about them so they are simply SWAGS (scientific Wild @ss Guess)

This is not the tourney that will provide swagger for the rest of the fall. I would say the RM will provide much more weight and respect to the winner. For one thing, all teams should have their players back from school volleyball by then. Right now, many teams are having difficulty getting their teams together for effective practices and will not be at their best this weekend.

That said:

(1) Red Hots
(2) 97 Sudden Impact
(3) High Voltage (only because Gene has had trouble getting all his team together because of school sports)

Boy allot of folk's are putting the pressure on those three teams, I hope they don't disappoint. I have not seen enough 12u ball to make predictions yet, but as soon as this tournament is over I will have my take on this group. 8-)

I think "Texas Sting 98/97 Blue/white/Yellow, Gold/Silver/Platnium, A/B, super combo"will take it all :o and in all I mean they'll find some way to take first and second how's that for pressure

I also saw a "Texas Redhots" Signed up in 14U Texas Lite @ BBUSA this weekend along with 97 ICE Hernandez are they a definite for this tourney? Or is this a different Texas redhots or scheduling error....

14U:
Texas LITE
Texas Storm Elite ’96
Sugar Land Bat Busters
GT Rage – Thorn
Texas Crush – Bertot
Texas Ice - Hernandez
Texas Aces – Jacoby
Tx Shockwave Blue
CY- Fair Shock
Lady Stros
Texas Red Hots
Texas Angels
Katy Force

End of Quote!!

If they play badly, is that a real reason for it, or is it just an excuse that can be hung out there for them to grab if they don't play well. You can watch a team play and tell if they are a contender, whether they have had 2 practises or 10. The quality of the coaching and the players will be there. Maybe a little rusty but it should not make them play badly.

That said best of luck to all.

I still think the RM will provide the best answer. Remember, I was responding to the comment of which team will have the swagger for the rest of the fall. All the top teams will be at the RM including the Red Hots and Texas Ice who are playing up in 14U this weekend, as well as the Texas Rattlers and, I believe TPS 98 which I feel can knock off many of the 2nd year teams. Nothing against this tourney as it will be a good one and the teams are very good who are in this tourney. Several in this tourney would have to be mentioned among the favorites for the RM. I just think the RM will be a stronger tourney overall and the winner of that tourney will be the best team entering the Spring.

That said, best of luck to all teams in this tourney...the winner will have to play very well.
