Stars over Texas 14u

by RlCldH2O » Wed Oct 07, 2009 8:41 pm

Yo Zig, the Redhots ended up getting beat by the Crush Sat night and the Fury lost as well but I don't know to who.

Oh and the Storm Elite vs Aces turned out just fine from where I was sitting. I am certain we will battle back and forth all season, Aces took us in pool. I was the football Dad that ran up late after driving like a maniac to get there after my son's football game. It was great, I made it in time to see my girl get plinked in the shin as she tried to bunt then pony up for a room just to have it all canceled early (Early as in we should have played), well she did make some plays at 1st in the last inning though. I forgot you mentioned you would be in attendance or I'd have looked you up.

What are all you so called real good; we are the one's to beat; top 96's going to to when the real big dogs start playing 14's. There are some real good 2nd year 14's still going to play in the 14 group. All you so called top dogs first year 14's don't have a clue at what coming at you.

Ok southside, what team are you with so we will know who to look out for as far as competition goes.... Its easy to come on here and say thay "we are the ones to beat" but if you don't tell us who "we" are, the we dont have any idea who the true big dogs are... I can assure you that the 2nd year 14u teams havent been forgotten, the discussion was on who played who. Was your team at this tournament??

sbmom, I think if you read closely southside was asking what those teams who think and talk like they are real good are going to do when the 2nd yr teams show up. Not that southsides team was one of those teams that are bragging neccesarily. Same thing happened last year and probably happens every year. The first yr teams come out blazing and then once HS ball is over and the 2nd year teams hit the dirt, some of the so called great 1st yr teams tend to disappear.
My daughter is perfect, she knows everything. Just ask her.

boy o boy, was i wrong about the aces :( looks like i will have to pick another team to root for. i did get to see "the texas storm elite" play and i have to admit i was impressed. what could one expect with the turnout they had at their tryouts though? still a little confused at the player selection though. maybe that makes it easier to pacify mommies and daddies when their kids are not getting a whole lot of playing time.. pick up a few second tier kids and have them sit the bench and just be happy to be on such a great team. not too much was said about the thunder from down under, what was their deal and how did they come out? i heard houston power was the winner by a coin flip, is that true?

shake rattle and roll ;)

There was some good play and some really poor play and quite a few teams who don't quite know who they are yet e.g. A or B, All Star or Rec.

I saw a very good pitcher with the Thunder. I saw a very impressive lead off batter with the Fury. I saw some good fundamental softball from the Sting Blue (small ball against a weak team in pool play). I saw a Power girl hit the fence on 4 hops. Add it all up and you got 2 and out at Nationals, so hold the happiness and the self praise boys and girls.

what did these certain girls do that caught your attention? the pitcher, the lead off batter, the 4 hopper from power, would not have been too bad if it had hopped after it went over the fence.. good pitcher and very impressive, can you please explain?? just curious..

It is kind of funny how you let them little Red Hots get to you. I would consider the Aces a top '96 team....so what are you worried about a '97 team for?

Redhots dont get to me, I am surprised they have not attracted some talent to fill their roster. I respect the oompas but was surprised to see they had to pick up the twins towers to field a team. I think the cheerleading, sandal wearing, crazy hair dude coaching has minimized interest in their team. No disrespect to their coaches, I'm just saying it does not belong in 12u much less 14u.

The real good second year 14s are playing 18 Gold and 16u.
