damn, everyone calm down on the rampage /glory scene .

those are both good teams. respect glory for hitting away today instead of stalling it out, which they could have done. threat did the same thing in the next game and was about 5 inches away with 12 seconds left from going another inning in a 1-0 championship game.

it's good to see people come to play ball. thats the way it's supposed to be.

threat is a very good team. pitcher, 98-99-00 whatever. doesnt matter. she changed speeds well and had good control. their hitters were very disciplined. it was a great game to play. glory game before was a great game to play. their pitcher threw hard and threw strikes.

the last 3 teams there all came to play and it was great. they all deserve a mention in any list of teams that come to play. that was fun.

thanks to the shadows for putting that thing on and fighting through the weather to get it done. the fields were great, the facilities were great, the competition was great, the cause was great.

And buy the way I live in Houston. Come down here and play our teams.(cobras, phantamz, cross fire, tps, kingwood edge, and all the other I bet if you bring all your 99's you would not even place.

Last time i checked the road ran North AND South....if you really think your teams are the best....these tournaments are open to teams from Houston too...come on up....if you need directions i am sure there are plenty of people willing to volunteer the information....

by the way if you are goingto come on the DFW board and talk smack....come play here and try and back it up..talk is cheap

I agree with you..

Just let the 10 year old girls play hard. The last three teams left fought very hard and Threat 99 came out on top. As far as the 98 - 99 thing, if ASA allows players to play to the end of the year, then why is everyone complaining, it is like they are doing something wrong. My opinion is this in the time of year that you get your pure age group ready for the next year. If a team chooses not to do that, they are not breaking any law.

Marty/redrocker - whatev...
First and foremost...1/2 the 98 Batbusters picked up for the 99 Batbusters? you are sadly mistaken. 2. There were 2 98 pickups. Just 2. That is hardly half of a team. The third girl that I am sure that you are THINKING is on the 98 Batbusters - is actually a 99 that left the 98 team to play 99. With that being said, Batbusters cannot say that they are a PURE 99 team. They are not. Their #1 pitcher is a 2001 that is absolutely amazing. She is an 8 year old girl that still jumps up and down in the circle when she strikes someone out! But she is having fun and that is all that matters.
The fact that you - a pick up for Glory - that HAS A 98 PITCHER - would come on here and bash that team for having 98 pickups to help them out in their VERY FIRST tournament is ridiculous. But not surprising coming from you.
What do you care? According to the brackets - Glory didnt face Batbusters. So why does this matter at all?
That little 8 year old girl pitched for that team all weekend long - except for in pool games, and their other 99 pitcher stepped in and one of the 98s, and except for when Batbusters faced the pure 98 Paris Stealth on Sunday morning. AND ----the 8 year old pitched the first 3 innings....then they put in a 98 pitcher. Oh and by the way...that 98 pitcher that pitched for them...she has only been pitching in games for 3 months.
The 98s did in fact play the infield for the Batbusters - but Thank God they were there because during their second bracket game, Batbusters lost a player, their starting 1st baseman, due to an injury at home plate.
Again...who really cares? Anybody except for you?

It was a great tournament...It was a gorgeous facility. I truly hope that a dent was made in the battle against cancer for the Shadows coach.....I hope that funds were raised and all had a good time!

they both look good. ya'll are gonna be fine.

both the pitchers im handlin with rampage are 9, so i dont know why anyone would ever throw age at me.

i'm the one that doesnt care. i like facing the big girls and i like throwin my little ones at em.

Ok Franco weekendblah! Was told that by a parent with Batbuster shirt on. So if I'm wrong I'm sorry, When your told you don't have enough suit out and play, that's what I'm going on. I have no concern about the Batbusters good or bad. As far as Glory their 98 I really have no idea why everyone is on their back, my god ASA states they can play until 2009. She has less mound time than alot of 99's. Yes she can throw hard and mixes up well.
I saw you 2001 she has alot of upside to her. So good for you. Yes there was some very good ball played this weekend. Alot of good pitching and it will be better next week.

ok after being in grapevine all week to ensure everything was working ok at all fields, what i saw from kids was a great weekend, alot of good ball played. As far as parents, I will agree with one guy, one that I will not name the team showed horrible sportsmanship to another team during a trophy presentation. Parents of that game should be embarrased that you acted that way. Your girls and coached stood there and clapped while you were making fun, rude remarks and acting horrible. Good team don't act that way!!!!

I want to begin by saying thank you to the '98 Shadows for hosting what I thought was an excellent tourney and for a couple of the best reasons one could think of...1st is Liz the, the '98 Shadows coach who is fighting cancer and 2nd, it is ultimately about the girls that love coming out to the softball fields and having there friends and family there to support and cheer for them during friendly competition. As a coach you don't get to hear all of the talk in the stands, but from what I have heard from this thread kind of makes me sick to my stomach!!!!

As far as the '99's playing '98's contraversy, it is what it is. It will make the younger girls better playing the older girls. I personally love seeing '99 teams whip up on supposedly better talent.

I would like to congradulate the Texas Threat for a well deserved 1st place trophy as you defentely earned it. Hats off to the Rampage Softball Club.....which scored 62 runs and only had 9 scored against during there EIGHT bracket games. That goes to show how much fight is in that team & against mainly '98 competition!
