Pleaseeeeeee don't make me get involved with this whole attacking the DD thing. A wet muddy pissed off spider monkey has nothing on me.

22'sdad I think everyone can use the improvement except for the mighty RH and HV.
I think Fall ball is nothing more than just practice but when Spring ball rolls around and teams die off the fangs will come out. There's nothing wrong with first year teams being confident and cocky. After the first few tourney's we will all be put in check.

Now let’s get back to softball.
Did anyone get to play this weekend?
Who looked good and who needs work?
Do there need to be any changes on the top 10 poll yet

We were up at Southbelt Saturday (my 10U DD has pitching lessons out there) and saw two 12u scrimmage games going on. An Ice team was playing the Rattlers on one field and 98 TPS was playing the Lady Stros 97. Before we left I asked about the scores. Rattlers seemed to be up by a pretty good margin as the Ice parent said the Rattler were definitely ahead but he did not know the score (two runs came in for the Rattlers as I was asking the question). The TPS parnent said they were down by 4 or 5 runs. Sorry did not ask what inning, so not sure of the outcomes.

Good to see someone getting back to the softball, although the smack talk is entertaining. I pity the foo's :!:
Sounds like the Rattlers are stronger that the poll suggests :o

I disagree with everyone saying the fall season is not very important. It is not the same as the spring I agree, but the climate down here allows us to play softball year round as opposed to many other states. It also allows for the players skills to be polished and maintained. I have never seen a fall where teams weren't trying to win as much as they would be in the spring.

Not to take anything from the Rattlers...they are a good team.

There are a couple of factors to consider. One, it was raining while the game was being played. Two, I can't speak for the Rattlers, but the Ice were moving players around...this was a scrimmage game. The game was even called before the official ending because of the consistent drizzle that led to many walks. Neither the pitcher for the Rattlers or the Ice could do much with a wet ball.

It would be good to hold judgement until a non-scrimmage game is played in more optimal conditions.

JCates,

Come on now, newbie already said it was a scrimmage game. Don't make excuses for losing, everybody knows what scrimmage games are for.

This is too funny. The excuses are already flowing!!

For the record, a light right did start and that is why we left, but, when I asked about the scores it had not yet started raining. We were pitching on the grass and the grass was not wet while we were pitching but it did start to become an issue when the light rain came so we cut our lesson short. Not trying to cause any trouble.

Newbie:

I did not take your post as a negative at all, and I don't think your intent was to stir up trouble...I just wanted to throw out some thoughts for consideration, and I mentioned the Rattlers were a good team as well.

Nana:

No excuses were intended since this was a scrimmage and the final score is not relavent. I even mentioned the Rattlers were a good team and that neither pitcher could do much in those conditions. I just wanted to make sure and re-emphasize that this was a scrimmage and not a real tournament. If you consider that making excuses then so be it. I was just throwing out some thoughts for consideration.

As for these polls, they are fine for parent chest pounding...have your fun. At the end of the summer when we see which team has been the best representative of the Houston area they will have earned my respect, whoever it is, because they earned the respect on the field.

The last I checked the Rattlers only had 6 girls. So my question is are those pick up girls or are they on the team? His core 5 are pretty solid....
