What is this a 97 thread ? There might be to many 98 teams in the championship games for your liking as well ! Before it is all said and done ! :o

Hammer - Hot Box I agree with you. In fact I will take it a step further. The 97's can make all the EXCUSES they want to about playing up: for better competition - More games etc etc. just come on out lace up the cleats and see what you can do against the rest of the 12u teams including the 98s. You may find some surprizes waiting for you. What do ya think Red Hots and High Voltage ????? Are you up to it. Let's play some FASTPITCH SOFTBALL!!!!

Should all the 98's bow down and not challenge the 97's ? Nothing wrong with being confident on what you are going to put on the field, is there ? It will take a few tournaments but there will be some 98's emerge to cause some havoc. 8-)

This is not our first time around the mulberry bush. We played 12u last fall. I know what it is all about. Also have been threw this with my sixteen year old. #1 did fine last fall, and with a year more experience under her belt I think she will be fine this year. Well take a little time to settle in but she will find her grove soon enough. ;)

Nov. 14th &15th

You want to play the best here is contact information for a tournament for you to sink your teeth into. This will not be for the faint of heart. So man up or run with your tail between your legs. Another thing you guys can always play up in 14U. Always push your team to be better. Challenge them every chance you get it will make them better in the long road. Another note no one cares who beat who in Sept,Oct,Nov,etc, etc. It only matters in August.

Update: I am looking for 14 teams. I am in contact with D-Bat (allen) and Glory 98 to see if they may want to particpate. I talking with Platinum (not sure what they have yet) and Groove 97 from Central. Stars, Rattlers, and Sudden Impact can not make it that weekend. Any other suggestions to whom may be strong competition for 2010?

Teams committed thus far:
Red Hots 97
Glory 97
Texas Storm Elite 97
TPS 98
Texas Ice 97
Texas Fusion 97
Austin's Finest 97
Austin Storm 12U
Texas Bombers 97
Texas High Voltage

Games will be 80 minutes, finish the inning.
Round Robin Format 6 game guarntee
Entry Fee $110
Umpire 30 dollars at plate
Location 1618 Toomey Road, Austin Tx (Central Austin)

I think if the 97's want to play 14U and can compete, then they should. But, last year there were a few 97's that played in 14U tournaments that the 14's looked more like allstar teams and not competitive teams. Some of the 97's played just so they could boast that they did it and not because they could compete against most of the 14's.

Good luck to everybody and remember, it's for the girls not the sucky parents!!

Very good statement. 12u should play 12u, then if the competition level is not there then play GOOD 14u teams. We will see in a few tournments whether the competition is there are not, and who is the competition this Fall. It will give a good idea of what is to come in the Spring . I feel the, so called, top 12u teams will fine the competition alot stronger than they think it is.
