Change of subject. I heard thru the grapevine that the Sportzone installed new field turf on the softball field. Has anyone seen the finished product?

They are still working on it. But suppose to be like the Dome.

Last I heard it was supposed to go down in the August/September time frame.

I wish it would have been done 5 years ago as the old carpet was way beyond it's years.

The Sportzone's delay in replacing that carpet when it NEEDED to be replaced helped the popularity of their competition in Ft Wayne. We stopped playing The Sportzone after 12u, strictly for safety reasons and concerns about the condition of the carpet. The Dome is usually cold, games are short and warm up space is virtually non-existent, BUT the turf was safe and more realistic and teams pack in there every tournament.

I don't like playing indoors anywhere because of the ground rules off of the nets. Seen some great hits that turned out to be fouls because they just grazed the netting.

Looks like will be playing some Zone tournaments for the first time in awhile...( contingent on the new surface going down..!)...........and it is true, the Indiana Pride has merged with the Indiana Magic, to form a new Magic '93. ! The merger looks good on paper, we're keeping our fingers crossed..LOL!
