Best 14u in North Texas

I picked who I thought was they best 14U teams-- Fusion(sidwell); If I had to break it down then the best '93 team would be Fusion and the best '94 team would be Batbusters.


Also, on the California post they bring up that they are dominate in winning ASA Nationals. With the teams from this age group that attended 12U last year and are now 14U this is what I found from12U ASA in 2007

2007 ASA Nationals.

62 Teams - 35 from California/27 from other states. 7 from Texas with two 95's. You have to give major props to:
TNT - 4th - had to throw in Oklahoma
Batbusters - T9th
Texas peppers - T13th

These teams had the cards stacked against them and did great. Now its our turn since 14U is in Texas this year. Good luck to all the Texas teams because I'm sure California will bring their big guns to face ours!.

If you're adding teams, you need to add American Freedom, Ft. Worth Batbusters (McClaskey), and Rapid Fire (Schroeder) at least. Any list that does not include these three '93 teams who will contend for a berth at ASA Nationals, represent North Texas at the 14u Colorado Fireworks tournament, and appear in every 18u college recruiting showcase in North Texas this summer is incomplete and seems to indicate a lack of knowledge of who is who among second-year 14u teams.

I can see Lori's point in not adding those teams. They are solid teams obviously, but who has the first place ribbon on the 14U tourneys every week?

Hopefully, they will post their head-to-head record at the end of this season and we have HOF as a great indicator.

Thank you SBNAG,glad someone else understands what it is all about. I never said the non mentioned teams were not good, because they are, just not the top 6 or 7 elite teams out there. Sorry I offended you travelball, but we have to be realistic here.

Rapid Fire (Schroeder) is not relaly that great of a team, trust me...they are no better as rapid fire than they were as 93 rage..different name..same talent level.

Batbusters (McClasky)..awesome team, but no great accomplishments in 14u ball (due to low level of competition from teams playing up--see 16u post about that), so they moved to 18u and had better success, due to competition level. Definitely a contender, but did not list them due to them not playing 14u.

American Freedom....a good team, but not a dominant team by any means...very inconsistent..look at their placings last year. You have to be consistent,especially in this age division, to be considered one of the best of the best, and American Freedom is not there yet. Not to say they won't be later in the year, but not right now.

By the way--travelball--you mentioned something about college look tourneys.......

Anyone can sign up and play in those, doesn't mean you have to have talent...just ask the Sluggers, Bandits, Batbusters (boyd), Stars, etc.....

So let me understand your limitations . . . . your 14u poll includes only the best 14u teams that play 14u in regular tournaments in Spring 2007 and 2008 and omits teams' who won 16u and 18u tournaments in the Fall 2007 with their current rosters because these teams don't play 14u tournaments even though they all intend to drop down to 14u to qualify for ASA Nationals . . . except for the Fusion (Sidwell), whose current roster is considered based on its performance in 16u Fall 2007 tournaments rather than its very average Spring 2007 roster . . . and of course omits the Batbusters (McClaskey) completely because everyone knows the the entire Batbusters organization is over-rated, which is why McClaskey's has had his girls playing only 18u for more than year because they can't win against '94 teams in 14u tournaments even though they beat one of your picks for a top 18u Gold team in North Texas head-to-head in a Fall 2008 tourmament . . . and doesn't include the Rapid Fire and American Freedom (who with the Traveler's (Splash) are the only returning 14u team that went to the 14u "A" ASA National Tournament in 2007 and rolled the Batbusters (Montoya) in the Bomber Shootout with half a roster) because . . . well we're still not clear on that one. . . so, with that limitation on who is included, we think we get your "Best 14u Teams In North Texas" list . . . ROTFLMAO.

BTW . . . noticed that your Poll has 309 views but only 18 votes cast . . . any possibility that is because there are teams that ought to be included?
