Anderson Bat Q & A

What's on your mind?

The typical break-in process is between 25 and 125 impacts. Remember you are listening for a change in the sound. The slowpitch model may be more because the walls are thicker. I break mine in by pounding it off a tee. and turning it after every impact. Remember that you are dislodging one wall from the other and turning the bat is important.

This is what it says about the Nanotek Baseball bat. Is it going to be the same for the fast pitch bat? No break -in period.
The unprecedented strength of the revolutionary NanoTek Alloy allows us to build a bat with the thinnest wall in the game. The NanoTek Alloy stores more energy at contact and delivers superior performance, improved feel and twice the effective hitting area of the competition.

Unlike composites that gradually rise to a short-lived maximum potential, the NanoTek XS has no break-in period, maintaining superior performance and delivering a solid feel throughout its life.

High-performance through design . . . Every component on an Anderson bat provides the player with game improvement technology. From the patented Ergonomic Knob to the Taper Flex Vibration Management System, each performance component works synergistically to improve the player's game through superior design.
Look at my little buddy dancing. He cant wait for the NanoTek to come out.

I've been anticipating the release of the NanoTek softball bat for a while now -- ever since the NanoTek baseball bat was released! I love Anderson products, and I'm sure the Nanotek SB will be the next in what has become a long line of the highest quality metal softball bats on the market!

One concern: In regards to the NanoTek slowpitch bat, do you plan to actually have the word, "composite" anywhere on the bat?

I play in a metal only league, and if any of the umps see the word "composite" on any bat, it's instantly thrown out. That's right, we are NOT allowed to use the RocketTech Composite Killer in our league.

There are many, MANY others who I've talked to who have said the same.

I can't wait for the NanoTek to come out, but is there any way we could keep any mention of the word, "composite" off the bat?

We actually used the term "All Metal Composite" you won't see that on the baseball bats. It was a decision made after the BB bats were released.

Mr. Anderson,

I was wondering, will the recent proposed moratorium by the NCAA on composite bats in any way affect the use of the word composite on the new NanoTek softball line?

It has already been removed. In light of the moratorium and the confusion the marketing department decided to can it altogether.

It is still on the drawing board and that is one of the items still up in the air. With the longer barrel typical to a Fastpitch bat, the weight becomes a little trickier. We will also need to do some prototype field testing. I'm sorry to be vague but I don't have a release date yet. When I do I'll publish it here first.

Awesome! It's a very smart move, IMO.

Anderson Bat company is top notch. How many owners of a company would come on a board like this and answer questions about their bats? Not that this site isn't high class and head and heels above the rest but Mr Anderson taking time out of his busy day for bucketeers, doesn't get any better than that. :D

Can you make a ballpark guesstimate on the release (e.g. 2Q '10, give or take 3 months)?
I'll bet KekambuS's team would be willing to help you out with the field testing...
