What happend to the thread for Background checks for Coaches

by play4fun » Fri Jul 24, 2009 8:40 am

I made some calls and out that ASA is aware and that Ft. Worth Metro has taken the necessary steps to resolve the situation. I was told that they could not discuss it with me at the present time but that there have been some false information released about the situtaion and some truth.

I for one would like for you posters to please put your real name on your post. So that folks can know who all parties are.

Mr. HB, can you make that happen?

Softball Tarzan you are out of line to chastise the moderators on HB. It's their site and they can chose to allow what ever they want on this site. Why don't you start your on friggin site.

So you contacted ASA where are all your post on VTD I have yet to see one post on VTD on this subject. I bet they would never approve your post. At least you have had some air time on HB.

The moderators don't have the time to thoroughly investigate ever thing on this board. We are talking potential law suits, potential court subpoenas to disclose posters on this subject. Now I am just giving some examples of what could happen. It appears that it seems like a lot of trouble for a couple of guys who started a cool softball site for us to enjoy.

I think you should respect their wishes. This topic will fly around the DFW softball community like a wild fire. I am sure every one will be well informed of the situation. I am a concerned softball parent, when it comes to a topic that can potentially harm our DD's or any kid.

I think if you contacted law enforcement officials and probation officers you have a better chance of removing this individual from the public.

I understand your comments and respect them. I am a concerned parent and coach that has kids at these tournaments and don't want to be looking over my shoulder every second wondering if this pervert is there prowling. I am sure that the Kruzers coach has rectified this with the team but would like to be sure that the individual is kept away from our little ones. I just think that by the moderators deleting the threads before this one they are not allowing others to be notified of the situation. I don't expect them to see everything but they obviously made sure those threads were deleted which is suspect. I beleive it is up to ASA and the Associations to post those on VTD. VTD is not as open as HB. That is one of the things that makes HB a great place.

Of course HB can make it happen. And they would be complete idiots to do so as that would surely be the first step towards this site's death.

How many parents are at these tournaments that have done something to put our kids in danger? Afterall, it's only the coaches that are checked and not the parents or relatives. Oh my God, do you know how many parents or relatives show up that could be criminals? Drug dealers, rapists, thiefs, etc. I say we need to start fingerprinting everyone that walks through the gates at the tournaments!!!!

Don't think I'm taking any of this the wrong way but I can't help but wonder that if we are going to talk about 1 person then we need to consider the whole community out there and see what everyone has done o put our kids in danger.

While we're at it I say lets give reality a try!

If I can prevent a known pedophile from hanging around my kid and others, I think it is worth the effort. Equating that danger to children with the danger posed by an adult drinking a beer in the parking lot or smoking pot 20 years ago reflects a curious set of standards. If I am concerned about my kid being exposed to every single person who has ever done something I don't approve of, then I am shit out of luck unless I want my kid to not be a member of society. I choose to hold off on purchasing a child-sized hermetically sealed bubble for now.

SBTarzan, you do need to be looking over, under and around your shoulder every second - there are others out there to that you do not have any idea about. Dont let up for a second - you really dont have a choice.

I had one pos bike rider, 'break down' every day I held practice and have to work on his bike right at the corner of my practice field. I make it a point of having my camera there and very obviously taking his picture. I had a few cars that would slowly drive by my practice every day, I have their pictures as well.

Maybe these are just coincidences, but I know they quit happening to be there right at practice time.

So this team will be in Georgia, right? He's not coaching, right? He won't be in the stands either, right?

I think me and just a few other people say who they really are, but sure would be nice and would be a lot less smack talking..
