I heard they were going to fire the basketball coach, and had a town meeting....then jimmy chitwood said he was ready to play ball again, but he would only play if coach stays.....so they let the coach stay and run his system, which was basically the players had to pass the ball at least five times before they could shoot.

then the coach asked the ref to throw him out of the game so shooter could coach...they ran the picket fence and shooter made sure the players didn't get caught watching the paint dry, but he was drunk, so they called a technical. The coach then kissed the pretty teacher in the barn against her will...at first....but she warmed up afer a while and kissed him back...then they won the state championship against a team from the big city...

oh wait...nevermind, that was a completely different story about a small town's high school sports politics....
Deserve's got nothin' to do with it.

This thread seems to be about either sour grapes of a program trying to recruit a player and lost out on both the recruit and and a current player, or the recruiting of players by DL. After reading through all these posts I have come to a conclusion!

1. DL's program recruits for itself.
2. There are alot of people that are jealous.
3. MR is a better coach than DL
4. Sports Medicine is only important to softball players at the H.S level.
5. (not mentioned) CC and Valencia split games last year.
6. Val has numours D-1 players until you count them.(I think 3 next year) I could be wrong.
7. There are a number of players that have allready transfered within the Dist.
8. The only people that really care are the ones effected (CC or Valencia)
9. Everyone that says it's only about softball wishes this to be the truth.
10. Like all other situations, SPAZSDAD IS RIGHT!

First let me say that the player at CC must be one heck of a player to create such hoopla as I can see the CC coach and his buddy are very concerned about just one player leaving the team. One thing that really has not been addressed completely is, has this coach really considered the possibilty that he really is not quite the coach that he thinks he is? It was stated in a previous post that he is a much better coach than DL. I am here to tell you that that could not be any further from the truth. DL puts in so much time with these girls that you wonder what is in it for her. I will tell you what is in it for her, pride, bonding and dedication to her program. You will never see girls as close as these girls become over the season. The proof is in the pudding! It is no accident that she has a winning team year after year. If you witness it, it is almost unbelievable but true. Practice within her program picks up where travel ball leaves off. You go back to your travel team in shape and wonder why many of the players on your team are not. It amazes me the amount of venom that is placed toward her because she works her a** off to be successful and to make the players successful, what's wrong with that? When you coach a high school team and are given that responsibility, shouldn't you at least show up to your practices? Maybe then, you too could win some games with a possibility to vie for the league title and possibly CIF. Lead by example, instead of all the negativity. In closing you may want consider changing something within your program, as something is obviously not right when you have players willing to walk away from your team. My philosophy is if you have the building blocks, it is your responsibility to build it, not criticize others who have already done so and are continuing to build it bigger.

Valencia strikes again!!!

I think everyone is missing the point. The key word being again. This isn't the first time (or second), and until the CIF stops her, it won't be the last.

1. DL's program recruits for itself.

I think DL does a good job of selling her program to disgruntled kids at the other programs. The key here is selling. CIF rules prohibit the coach selling other kids on her program. There is alot of wink-wink and nudge-nudge, but is just quietly recruiting.

She reached out to a catcher who was never going to catch on Varsity for Canyon as long as BW was there. I'm sure zz is a great player who works hard, but BW hits, catches and throws much better. DL exploited the fact that the kid was going to have to wait another year to catch. The reaching out part is the part that violates the rules. The rest is whitewash.

To me, the only issue here is when a coach can leverage the loophole rules into an off and in season program which invites 7th & 8th graders who are 1-3 school bounderies away to practice with the varsity squad. That is suspect.... it also sounds like recruiting to me. Im not talking about an open clinic either.

As for the current players moving its perfectly within thier rights to do what they are doing. They are definitely good people and waited until it was a good choice for thier kid & family. Who really can fault them?

I feel for Rego & the future GV staff. WR is fine, Hart is good but 1-2 players leaving to Valencia away from falling flat... LMAO. This wont go away. get a scorecard and keep track.
The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure.
These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur.

I contacted the CIF office yesterday on what we can do to start the process of changing the rule. The person I need to talk to will call me back on Monday. So let's hope we can get the ball rolling on changing the rule. It at least needs to be changed so that if they transfer they have to play down one year.

I heard that the girl at Canyon transferred because the school doesn't have the class she wanted. I think there is some illegal stuff going on and a lot of lying. I know that the girl from Canyon was denied the transfer by Canyon personal and the Hart board allowed the transfer. She needs to transfer because of a class. Bull. I think all Schools in the Hart district should offer the same classes. And isn't it funny I heard both of the girls play for the Choppers that practice at Valencia. If people are allowed to transfer they should not be able to play Varsity for a year that is the rule. I also know that there was text messages being sent to Canyon coaches about the girl at Canyon. "I quote I guess your shortstop will be playing for us next year" And as far as I'm concerned the rule should change, if you want to go to a different School. MOVE

Guess they'll need to either remove their game from that milk carton or transfer to Canyon.
