Texas Teams in Colorado--How are they competing?

by fstptchbtch » Mon Jul 06, 2009 5:22 pm

Arm Chair, whoever the coach of the Glory Adkins 14u team is not getting the job done. This team has a lot of talent and in February and early March were as good of a team as there was in the state, but now in July they are average at best.

The coaches have to shoulder the blame for this downward turn. They have more talent than they have the ability to coach.

OMG!! How did this post turn into a bash the TX Glory Adkins 14U team? Unbelievable!! Grandmaster - why do you feel the need to badmouth and start crap about every Glory team. There are so many teams out there that treat their players like crap and are only in it for the glory (no pun intended). Team form and then break up because they don't know how to treat people.

Who really cares? If these girls want to play for these teams and they're happy, why does evry waqnt to bad mouth them? Makes no sense...

Everyone who feels the need to bad mouth other teams that have done nothing to you, really needs to find a better hobby!! Remeber, these are young girls you're ultimately talking about.

My DD plays for a different high profile metroplex organization that has just as much drama but you never hear about it. Makes one wonder why....

The Glory 14-U Adkins team is doing just fine thank you. Yes, they won a lot of early games in the DFW area and did not have the same level of success in Colorado. This is because the level of competition they played in Colorado was better than what they have seen over all in the DFW area. It has nothing to do with coaching. We did not start this team to see how many trophies we could get, we started it to prepare the players by playing the best competition we can find. We are preparing them to move up to the 16-U or Gold teams as soon as we feel they can compete at that level. With the recruiting window getting opened at an earlier age with each passing season, having them ready for college exposure is the ultimate goal. There is a plan in place and we are actually ahead of schedule. Enjoy the rest of your summer.

The Texas STIX 16U National team went undefeated in pool play and ended the tourny 15th out of over 150 teams in the Colorado Sparkler. This was a standout team. They had a player hit 3 GRAND SLAMS in 3 different games.

I was not at the Sparkler so I did not see the games, but the Sparkler website says in the first place Mt Elbert Bracket that the Stix lost their first bracket game 3-1 to Minn Ice and then won a game 6-4 vs Wichita Shockwave but then lost to New Jersey Avalanche 6-1.

How did they calculate a 1-2 record in bracket to place 15th? I guess if you are in the top bracket, you finish about those in bracket 2 even if they win more games that you do.

Stix is a solid team. They should have gone farther at ASA 16U State. Sorry that they are not at Regionals this weekend.

Which team from Texas has bragging rights the Glory or Kruzers? Just got back from the 14u Colorado firework tournament with a DD #00, on a first year team out of Kansas the Kc Xplosion.
This first year team finished 13th out of the field of 63. We went 4-1 against Texas teams that were filled with talent and coaching. Congrats to the team who knocked us out 1-0 the Houston Power, what a defensive battle. We have played TPS, Kaos, Shockwave, Power, Hawks, Fusion, Kruzers and the 95 Glory in the past few years. I have my own opinion as to which team is the best from Texas. Just curious who the people from the great state of Texas
feel have the total package to compete and win against a Corona Angels 14u.

My top five from Texas that have a chance to make a good showing at Nationals in no certain order depends on the draw.
Batbusters- good overall team
Kruzers- tied 7th ASA Nationals 08
Travelers- tied 7th ASA Nationals 08
TPS- tied 5th ASA Nationals 08
SK -Velocity good team and pitching
Hawks-good team having problems this year ? good talent though
Power -good pitching nice team
Im sure I forgot someone kaos good team speed not enough pitching
JMHO :D
