Texas Teams in Colorado--How are they competing?

by bbgold13 » Fri Jul 03, 2009 5:27 pm

Been at the gold tourney most of the day yesterday and today, anyone see any standout TX players at the 14U or 16U tourneys? Se some great athletes but don't know any of their names....

Definitely struggling!!! don't know why... they need pitching, so I'd tell your friend to check into it! When you're averaging 6 runs a game in bracket play, you would assume you're doing pretty well. But you know what they say about assuming!

Gold has been on the clock since yesterday - 75 minutes - no new inning starts after this. Talked to a tourney guy, because rain is in the mix again for the 3rd day. They may be going to 45 minutes games to get it over by tomorrow. Seeing alot more time outs called in the latter innings. Today our 2:30 PM start was 2 full games behind and that was at 4:30 PM and it is raining. I am trying to blow it over to Texas!

Rain has caused some havoc in Colorado. In the Indy tourney, Austin Storm 16U won two bracket games. They have picked up a solid pitcher (Fusion?) and they have a first base player who can HIT the ball to the fence. What happened to the Austin Stars 92? Two and out in Fireworks 18U. I think the same happened to the Blaze Gold. Bombers Black were working their way through the 5th place 16U round of Sparkler. Very few texas teams are dominating in Colorado. These teams should be playing better than they are.

Sounds like Adkins has wrong team going to Georgia.Maybe he can get Glory Adkins 16u to Georgia for the 14u Natonals and 14u Adkins can stay home and save everybody the time and money they are going to be spending just to go (2) and out in bracket.

Maybe, like the 96 Glory bunch, they should stay home and try to win some A tournaments here instead of a Metro only to get Nationals. Like the previous poster said, would save alot of time and money.

The 14-U Glory Adkins team is a very young team but still had a good showing in Colorado. Our goal is not getting trophies in local A tournaments as this does very little as we move toward our long term goals. Our goal for this team is to play the best competition we can play, playing in national tournaments will only make this group stronger. They are a first year 14-U team and as we get them more experience, this too will help them at ASA Nationals. Let's save all the "save your money" talk until after Nationals are over. Not very many people gave them a chance at winning Dallas Metro, but they did!

The Glory Adkins 16-U team (Playing with only the 14-U kids) finished 2nd at the Coloradro Fireworks tournament.

I could be wrong here Mr. Flash, But I read the post to say he was only playing his 14-u kids, Not saying he didn't have any 16-u kids on the team, I have been wrong before
