State Games

by coolstuff » Tue Jun 23, 2009 10:45 am

We're (Indiana Twisters) headed to Bloomington this weekend for the Indiana ASA State Games. Our first 18U pool play is the Indiana Diamond Outkasts. Then we play either the Indy Express or the Indiana Earthquake.

Post what's going on here. I'll try to if I remember to take a laptop.

If anyone has the final results, please post them. I'm convinced who the front-runners are at 16u.....way to go Gators '92..! Shockwaves '93 as tough as always, both Dreams teams very good..(kudos to Reeces' Dreams, as far as I know, a 14u team that could compete with top 18u's..!) and the Magic is back..! A very good tournament, despite the hot weather...!!!

16-U State Games in Pendleton:

Gators won the elimination bracket by beating shockwaves troy 2-1 game. It was a great game by both teams, a real tough battle. They then had to head to Colorado, I think. Dreams Lemming beat the Magic Gold and since Troy and company headed out of town for Col.(I think) that moved Lemming automatic in the Championship game and since he got his birth to Nationals they (the team dreams) was short with injures and fatigue they decided not to play at that time. Great tournament, some great softball, and another week-end of great weather.

1st- Gators "92"
2nd- Dreams Leming
3rd- Shockwaves (troy)
4th- Magic Gold

I don't know who won the 12U.

The 18U winner was Michiana Mystique
The 16U winner was Indiana Gators 92
The 14U winner was Indiana Gators 94
The 10U winner was Indiana Gators 98

My two DD's play on the 16U92 and the 14U94. This weekend at Pendleton, we saw extremely talented teams that have girls and coaches that work very hard. It would be difficult to say who is the best. This weekend was one team, last weekend, a different team, next time out, who knows? I'm convinced that Indiana will be represented by quality teams in Sioux Falls this year by the teams that have qualified so far. I also think there are a few others out there that probably deserve to go also. The battle for the remaining berth should be a great one. Good Luck to all of them.

At the 14U in Centerbrook, the Gators had to come back from the lower bracket to beat the very talented Summit City Thunder, twice. The Thunder put the Gators in the lower bracket early Sunday morning.

Congrats to all who played this weekend. Indiana Softball is alive and well and THRIVING!!!
