KruZers 97

This is a sad story that a coach cut players from a National Qualified team. Are they an A team or B team? or do they even still have a team?

We had a situation similar to this in All Stars a couple years ago except that the players quit. We were allowed to pick up 3 players from another team but no more than 3. The 3 players we picked up had signed a Championship roster for their team but their team did not qualify. Their coach had to sign a release form to allow the girls to be added to our roster. The State Commissioner had to sign the realease form from the team that did not qualify and a form to add the players to our roster.

So if the Kruzers have only 5 of the original players left and they are only allowed 3 pick up players for nationals, they would have to play with 8 players for the tourney. Or is there a way around that?

The players that got cut would only be able to play nationals if Kruzers drop out. Hopefully there is a way around that.

Bummer for all the kids involved in this Parent / Coach mess.

the kids that were cut would not be allowed on another championship roster unless the manager of the team that cut them signs a release form.

Absent some gross misconduct on the part of the parents, I can't imagine why a coach would do that to a kid. Even in the face of differing coaching philosophies, one would think you could hold it together for another six weeks and allow the girls to play at nationals.

That is daddy ball mentality and not all teams feel the way you do regarding player protection. I do agree, however, that one would think a team could stick it out for a couple of months then reassess the situation post-Nationals.

I believe state and metro Commissioners have the authority to override this. It becomes more of an issue with pitchers/catchers.

I have kept quite this year but this post is getting out of control. Personally I feel for all the girls on this team but NOT THE PARENTS! Obviously there were issues that had to be resolved and everyone of us knows that each team experiences them. I find it interesting that there are some adults that act like children to set out and air their dirty laundry in an attempt to make themselves feel better. That is very juvenile.

I am sure that we don't know both sides to the issue but I will say that if cutting the poor girls had anything to do with the parents that started this thread then I can see where part of the problems lie. Parents who are troublemakers cause more problem on a team than there daughter and sometimes the parents need to be cut!

Now let the girls play the game and leave all alone. Parents grow up! If you have issues then handle it as an adult!

I don't think a release matters. I understand that as long as the team is still involved in championship play, the cut players cannot join another team. Regardless of whether they are released by their coach. It gets real messy once ASA rosters are turned in. If a player or a player's parents don't fit in your plans for nationals, you leave that kid off the roster.

...and you know your answer is more complicated than written....this usually applies when it's one...but here's 5...after qualifying...the responsible thing is to address it post nationals at that point.
