KruZers 97

I read through this entire post and still can't figure out what he "did"
Does anyone have the real story on this? I know that really good pitcher (who will remain nameless even though everyone on here knows who I'm talking about but I may get hammered for the mention of a dd's first name) walked and RG started posting for "3 players" a couple weeks ago. I also heard about 2 players (big hitting catcher and a 2.9 slapper) that he has in the works. Is this team truly 9 players different than it was 3 months ago?

dallasfp, what he did was make a tough coaching decision. Most coaches would never have the courage to make those kind of decisions. So you are actually thinking right. He did not do anything that any other coach does not do, make coaching decisions.

Ok. I guess I'm more or less confused about the situation itself. I get that he had to do what's best for the organization. What exactly were the events that led him to being faced with making said decision though?

The matter of exact facts you would have to ask him. It would not be my place to say. What I do know is that the team will always be moving in a positive and successful direction. I have no doubts about that.

Well it would seem that we have current Kruzer parents and former Kruzer parents having a "lively" discussion here with a few trying to figure out what's real and what is B.S. As one of cut coaches, I will add my viewpoint of what transpired.
- Fact - Over the course of 4 months, from the start of Spring, this team had an official roster of 13 players.
- Fact - As of yesterday, RG cut 5 players off the team due "difference of opinion in coaching philosophy" and in his opinion, irreconcilable differences well before the qualifier.
- Fact - Of those 13 players, 4 of the original players remain. 3 are "A" ball players with heart, hustle and desire to be the best. 1 has all the attributes but lacks the aforemented qualities.
- Unknown Facts - The parents and coaches of the five players cut put our differences aside in support of the players to all them to finish what they started. The thought was if the team qualifies for Nationals, we ALL would see it through as it would not be fair to their teammates that worked their butts off to get there. We agreed it was the honorable thing to do for their TEAMMATES all though we didn't want to. It made it like old times at the hotel for me...
- Unknown Fact - We were all cut last Saturday but didn't know it yet. :) The remaining families knew, and their teammates called the cut players, poked and made fun of the situation before their families knew.
- Unknown Fact - Instead of a call, after all this team had been through; parents and players, a decision was made to cut 5 players via email. I've voiced my opinion to RG about the process, not the decision, as being Chicken****. We deserved more, and I expected more.

If you all want to get deep into the questions, I have a better one for all:

How do you lose/remove 9 "A" players in 4 months?
I can add to it: (remove the question mark) and qualify to for "A" ball nationals?
I can add to it: (remove the question mark) and be retained by the Kruzers after the parents sat down with the leader of the organization with issues of "Daddy Ball" and leadership...with an offer that would fix it all...A non-parental college coach/player that had committed to the team if agreed to by the parents.
I can add to it: ...we'll I could go on for awhile..."here and there and so forth" :) Sorry K, couldn't help it.

Well as I write this, I'm thinking Coach Green has my vote "Coach of the Year" as most would have quit. He's shown that he can withstand alot of buckshots, arrows, and grenades. Good for you Rick. I tip my hat.

...Bottom-line, we were cut and that's the coach's perrogative. What I have a problem with was timing of it all to attain the goal of qualifying for the National Tournament (that is the appearance). So in essence, the birth is earned on the players backs, the opportunity taken away for 5 players...because the coach couldn't wait till after Nationals to remove all his "problems". That would appear to be selfish and inconsiderate of the kids that stood in 100 degree heat for you. That's just my opinion....and if anyone says that after being cut from a team and offered a trip to Nationals (at the end of the cut email) makes sense must smoking Meth from the same bong that RG was on when he made the offer.

A side from that, I wish the 12U Kruzers the best and I hope you do well at Nationals. I have respect for all of the Kruzer families minus one "Nookie" for the way it was handled.

ALL of you, both sides of this thing, had better take a long hard look at the situation your in. For cryin' out loud, we're talking about 97's here! At this rate, these kids are DOOMED.....and NONE of you really know what you're doing yet! We haven't heard from the Coach but I'll bet he has his own spin on this too.
Doesn't matter to me because...DID I MENTION THE FACT THAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT 97's HERE?????  :( :(

WOW...great stuff. I believe a team has to keep at least six players from the roster that qualified. Sound like RG has spent to much time in direct sunlight. Lighten up they're just sixth graders.
