Texas Sting is a good sound team, especially defensively. Pitching is okay but not great. And hitting is just okay too.
Peppers 98 are a good team. Has good pitching. Will be interesting to see what happens with them in the spring and who shows up there. On eteamz they are looking for players and coaches it looks like.
Lady Stros 98 has good hitters, pitching is bellow average.
I would watch out for Kaos 98, Bert always finds athletes for his teams.
AS far as 99 teams
The Sugarland Smash had a solid little team they are very small and fast. But rumor is they lost their #1 pitcher
Cobras need some pitching but could come around late in the summer
Woodlands Thunder 99 have placed in several tournaments in the fall according to their website. And probably have the best 99 pitcher around.
Should be interesting Spring/Summer. LOTs of teams though
Mid season recap
I took this post because it hit on both ages and has a few of the top teams listed
TPS 98 seems to have found their stride and are holding it together well looking for big things from them at Nationals
TX sting pitching and hitting has improved and they are definitely a contender to bad they are deciding to skip ASA nationals
Peppers 98 are a shell of last fall and nowhere even in the conversation. They seek out weak tournaments and definitley peaked in the fall.
Lady Stros have been dorment for the past few weeks it will be nice to see them this weekend.
Kaos impoded as expected. lost key players and will struggle through the remainder of the year.
Panthers, Rage etc... are all in the mix and should do well trading 2nd-5th place through the fall when TPS 98 and Tx Sting are playing
Smash is a good little team but nothing to write home about they can play small ball with the best of them and occasionally pick up a player or two that can hit well but they are a young team with a 98 pitcher hopefully they will keep it together through the fall and come out swinging in the spring.
Cobras 99 could be the real deal next year if they can hold it together (I don't see it happening) they'll be around but on a divided front by August. Tension between the coaches is obvious and they wil struggle with egos through the year.
Woodlands Thunder 99 seeing them in the fall I thought they where a 98 team Seeing them in the spring they are definitely a 99 team and a marginal one at that.
