Top three ~12U~ teams in Houston

REALLY AND SEVERAL OTHERS...you are missing the point. I could care a less if either ICE team is added.

First, the previous poster was correct in that it was Riptide, not the Peppers that was knocked out. That was a unintended typing mistake on my part.

For those who like to stir up trouble, my intent was not to promote or put down any team, but to make the point that on any given day any of these teams can fall. I also gave recognition to the 97 Red Hots for their good performance in Sugarland and I did it on purpose to keep things neutral and prove my point because they knocked off some very strong teams as a first year 12U. I actually find it funny that a bunch of "adults" get caught up in debate about who is the best 12U. Why not just let the girls play the game and at the end of the season we will know who is the best? When the last team is left standing I will tip my hat to them...regardless of the team.

We all know from football polls how great the so-called experts are...lets see Alabama was rated #1 with two weeks left in the season and they got beat by Utah which could never get the respect they obviously earned.

The best, whoever that might be, will be the last one standing at the end of the year. All the "macho" discussion by so-called experts means nothing.

Your credability is questionable when you state facts, and now you have gone and taken sides with Utah (Against Alabama). I always knew you were a little odd but its all starting to add up now. Please stop quoting game results and jumping to conclusions about people and their sex and/or preferences. Every time you post on here it is against what is being posted and you show your a$$$ about what did or did not happen or what may or may not happen and continue to prove that you are a total idiot. I find it hard to believe that you have actually attached your identity to your stupidity. Sit down, shut up, read the blog or go away. Quit complaining already.

I don't get caught up in who is # 1. I'm just trying to get my girls better at each practice and game we play. We are making strides and playing some good softball at times. My goals is getting more consistent though.

I used the Alabama / Utah game as an example of how unimportant polls are. Utah proved on the field who is the best. I also used the TPS 99 Tournament and the Sugarland Tournament as examples of how on any given day anyone can beat anybody. This had nothing to do with putting down any teams, and there was no intent to do so. I was not trying to promote one team over any other, I simply used two tourneys I was familiar with.

When I make a mistake I own up to it...by mistake I typed the wrong name (Peppers instead of Riptide). My apoliogies to the Peppers for this mistake.

The point remains the same...the TPS 99 tournament, and the Sugarland Tourney were simply used as an example of how any team can fall on any given day. Does anyone really think the Riptide, High Voltage, Crush, Aces, or whoever else played in those tourneys, and lost, is not a strong team simply because they happened to lose that weekend. I certainly don't. In fact while I don't know all the coaches of these teams, I have a high respect for the ones I do know...the coach of High Voltage being one of them. Discussing who is best right now is pointless, that includes the team my daughter is associated with or any other team. The best team will be determined in the national tournaments, and I will be the first to tip my hat to the National Champion.

Regarding Polls:
I just looked at the current results of this poll and the Red Hots are at 7% and and the Aces are at 22%. Didn't the Red Hots win a championship this past weekend that included the Aces? The polls say the Aces are much better, but the scoreboard (FOR THIS WEEKEND) says otherwise. I don't really care one way or the other, I know both teams are very strong, well coached teams. The only thing that counts is what happens on the field. To show how useless polls are, I could call a bunch of people I know who are not even associated with softball, get them to get on HeyBucket and vote, and skew the poll any way I wish. Polls are useless.

For the record...to any teams mentioned in my texts they are not intended as shots toward that team...they are only EXAMPLES using a couple of tourneys I was familiar with.

Not sure how I offended you ZIG, but based on your comments I really don't care. At least I do not hide behind some avatar trying to stir up trouble with my comments! I stand behind my comments in that polls are useless.

Head to head compition is what it is all about, but can't we have some fun along the way?
If you don't care to participate then don't. But you make me wonder why you would even bring out the Red Hot and the Aces results if you are not curious I am not with either one of these teams,but will tell you I voted for the Aces on their stats for the spring not last weeks scoreboard. I believe placing in the top 3.. 5 times out of 5 tournaments 3 of those being 1st places deserve my vote. I also voted for the Peppers and the Bandits and if I had a 4th vote it may have went to the Red Hots. Anybody voting for their own team is just part of the poll.
Again it is a poll not a game with a scoreboard.and I feel assured that these teams can bring it to you on the field at any given time

I am with a team that has beat the Peppers once and the Bandits once but I voted for both of them along with the Aces. It is about consistency and overall record in my books to put you in the top 3. I was torn on FB Thunder because they just don't ever play 12s to give enough sample space. So the jury is still out on them.

Don't get me wrong the Red Hots have a great little team. They definitely are not afraid to go after the big dogs and sometimes come out on top.

I simply made my personal opinion of polls (of any sort which is why I used the NCAA example). If you want to participatate in the poll have at it. No one, including myself is trying to stop you if you want to participate. I simply made an opinion. I am not with the Red Hots either...I just used them as an EXAMPLE because they won a tourney against some very strong teams that were rated higher in the polls..

Before HeyBucket PI's go locate where I am from, and I would not use my real name, if I worried about such things. I am with Texas Ice 97.

My post was not to promote any team over another (including the Ice 97), but to show some examples supporting my personal view regarding polls. Do I think others should share that view..no way. I do not expect them to do so. I welcome constructive critism of my views such as those expressed by the last two posters. They expressed their differing views without the childlike put-downs of Mr. or Ms. ZIP (who hides behind an avatar and gets personal with his or her comments). If my opinions on a softball web site upset ZIP that much then I would guess ZIP must be a person with a fairly boring and unsatisfying life.

Personally, I just choose to let the 12U girls be 12U girls. Win or lose I hope they learn a few life lessons that will help them as grown-ups (teamwork, responsibility, value of hard work, etc.) and look back at their softball days as a fun and rewarding experience. Unfortunately, I see way to many macho adults doing their best to ruin this experience.

What teams after all played in Tomball with Fury?

All I know was FB Thunder was there and Fury double dipped them to take 1st. I heard the last game was a run rule too. FB Thunder beat them earlier in the day to put them in the loser's bracket.
