You all crack me up with all your big time talk and predictions. My bets are on a South Texas team to win it this year. I guess we'll all have to just wait until Sunday to find out. I plan on being there to see it. Good luck to everyone!!

Well! hmmm! Look whos calling the kettle black with a prediction of their own! I'd take you up on that bet, since the Peppers are not playing! Everyone knows that they are the best 14 u team South of I-20!

By the way what is the ante? :geek:

Maybe he is basing his prediction because their are 20 more teams in the 14u from the South than North, about 30-10. Note, some of the best DFW 94's are not showing up. Maybe it is because DFW teams are spoiled with the nice facilities, great TD's and the lack of restrictions on coolers and other food items brought into the park. Seguin ought to take a bull dozer to that trailer park outfit down there they call a softball complex. :o

Maybe so... The 93 Texas Storm (bracket 1) beat the Texas Peppers twice in just the past few weeks. They certainly shouldn't be a team anyone takes lightly. The SK Tazers (bracket 1) is another team that could hold their own against any team listed in the predictions above.

Can't disagree that South Texas (meaning Houston), could make a run at the title. Texas Storm '93 and SK Tazers definitely have talent and have to be considered in the mix. Especially if the Storm bring all their girls. Everyone needs to remember that the Bomber Tournament is really who has the best team on THIS WEEKEND; not who the best team will be THIS SUMMER.

South Texas 8's are definitely a contender. But you have to wonder if this collection of eighth graders from several area teams is nothing more than a Gold level pitcher on a team that wouldn't make it to Sunday combined with the fact that the tournament director that made up their cakewalk bracket has a daughter on the team.

Wondering what top '94 teams from DFW do you think aren't coming? Would definitely like to see the Glory (Elliot), but when are people going to stop considering the Fusion (Sidwell) to be a '94 team. They have two great '94 pitchers, but their studs players are the old Texas Elite '93 and a couple of '93 Texas Glory (Whitby) players.

It really dosn't matter about the girls age after 14U it matters what year the girl graduates. I went to the Texas Fusion Site and pulled up their roster. They have 4 girls as a freshman, 7 girls in 8th grade and 1 7th grader. To me they will be a force for 4 or 5 years no matter what age division.

Amercan Freedom has 9 2011---4 also a nice mix.

I guess what I am saying without looking at everyone's roster is after they get in high school it doesnt matter. Girls on teams now maybe able to play gold ball why others may choose to stay down. It is a crap shoot every year weather teams can and will stay togather. So enjoy every year because it may be the last for the way the team is made up now.

Just wondering if anyone knows what happened with that 93 Texas Elite team. They had a very competitive squad. I think they qualified for Nationals for 2 years in a row. Not many teams in the area can say that. I too checked their roster and it appears only 2 of the Elite girls are Freshmen the SS and 3rd. I am not sure who the other 2 Freshmen are??

It would be nice to see the Fusion (Sidwell) team bring their pitching staff to this tournament. I like their chances later this Spring, in the Qualifiers, those two pitchers will keep them in a lot of tournaments and they are surrounded with some very good athletes!!!

Who is the Gold Level pitcher for the S.TX 8's? The last time I saw them they were pitching the girl from the 93 bombers. It looked like they had enough good hitters and defence to win with any pitcher.

Is that reason the tournaments in DFW are priced so high? It seems the average cost with gate fee is $400. In South TX the average is $150 with many for less. Do the parks really charge that much to host a tournament in DFW or are the TD's doing for a living?

South Texas 8s have the pitcher for the South Texas Hotstuff, which won the 16u Ronald McDonald Tournament this fall. Older sister has signed with Texas A&M. She will pitch 18u Gold this summer. Last time you saw the ST8's hitters they were hitting off of some Central Texas team and not one of the top pitchers from Houston or North Texas. As I understand it, this team is basically the '93 Bombers with a couple of girls off the older Bomber's team. Defense? They don't need a defense when they play in Central Texas.

The core 6 or 8 players on the '93 Texas Elite become the Fusion (Sidwell). Former head coach of the '93 Elite is the assistant coach on the Fusion. The current Texas Elite '93 is some other team that changed its name and joined the Elite organization. None of the girls were on the old '93 Elite.

In South Texas you pay umpires at the plate. Usually $25 a game. You also sometimes pay to get into the park. Almost everywhere else the cost of umpires is included in the tournament fee and there is no cost to get into the park. Much better way to run a tournament IMHO.
