In 2004 14u All Stars, my team was playing in a championship game, losing 9-4 in our final at-bat. As we come up to bat, one of my players stands up on the bench and starts singing "Ain't no mountain high enough". The whole team stands up on the bench and joins in, hand motions and all. The other team, while taking their warm-ups is dumbfounded and just staring into the dugout.

We scored 6 runs to walk-off with the championship 10-9.

I'm assigned a varsity game less a mile from my house and get to the field about an hour prior to game time. There are no teams. I contact my assignor who makes a phone call to the AD. Come to find out, its prom night and the AD forgot to let the assignor know the game had been rescheduled. By contract schools need to notify the assignor a minimum of two hours in advance of any changes, so my partner and I get the full game fee.

Yep....I'm laughing all the way to the bank.
