High School Ball well under way, what are your thoughts.

Blackford(3A) looked solid last weekend. I got there late and only got to see 2 innings. I think the pitcher (Reid) is a Mccutcheon transfer. can't say for certain, but I certainly can say she BROUGHT IT!! Only got to watch 4th and 5th do to 10-0 score against S. Wells(A). GO LADY BRUINS!!

Yes, Kelsi Reid transferred from McCutcheon, before last season, I'm certain.

High School Softball Politcs Suck.

I agree school politics aren't fair for the girls who are really good and don't get the opportunity for success. They are being discriminated against. Try-outs should be based on their ability or abilities. Or should I say, what try-out??? It shouldn't be based on who their parents know. School politics should not be allowed and should be monitored.

High School politics still suck.

Many coaches don't kinow the rules especially the DP/Flex rule. Don't understand that you can use courtesy runners for your pitcher and catcher etc...

Center Grove, Avon and Carmel are in a class by themselves in 4A.

New Pal and Booneville are at the top in 3A.

Athletic directors shouldn't schedule a team to play 6 or 7 games in a week or 14 games in 16 days including Sundays like DD's team has coming up beginning late this week.

Athletic directors shouldn't schedule a team to play 6 or 7 games in a week or 14 games in 16 days including Sundays like DD's team has coming up beginning late this week.

Sundays? That IS brutal! We're getting jammed up because of rainouts. Supposed to play a rescheduled game tonight and it looks like it's going to be rescheduled again.

Do ADs make the schedule, or does the coach, or do they work together on it? Can't imagine that a coach wouldn't have some say in the schedule. Just asking because I don't really know.

The statement was that DD's team has 14 games scheduled in 16 days and that includes 2 Sunday's that games can't be played so basically 14 games in 14 days that games can be played on. This kind of schedule allows plenty of time to practice anything that needs to be worked on doesn't it? Not!

Right now they have played 4 games where as most other schools are 7 to 12 games into their season and then they pile it on with a brutal run of games. If they get any rain outs chances are they won't be rescheduled which may not necessairly be a bad thing.

In the case of her school the AD does the schedule with very little or no input from the coach. I am not sure about other schools, but that is the case with hers.

Another day --- another cancellation. That makes 5 for the season. Even as bad as high school ball is I'm ready to watch some games!!!!

Game against Brownsburg was postponed today for a later date but the weather should be great for the big showdown against #1 Center Grove on Thursday. The previous 2 games have being extra inning affairs by 1 run with one victory for each team.

They need to swap Soccer and Softball seasons! You can play soccer in the rain! Better weather in the fall! Still rains,but not as much! Could be done by mid October!
